You mentioned you were in the public high school. Public teachers are not allowed to teach everything except the colleges and universities. It is the policy they are required to follow. Their hands are tied. Other children's parents do not want teachers to teach them everything. Teachers are bounded by the policies. The US public education system is way beyond out of control and created bad acts. The high school examinations are terrible. For instance, the students are required to take English exams, science exam, social studies exam and others. Once they pass the exams, they don't have to take the classes AGAIN, unless they want to take elective classes. even though some of them are freshman, sophomore and junior. This sophomore student didn't even read the books like Shakespeare, sonnets, poetry, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc because this student already passed English exam. I also know this teenager who passed the science exam when she was a freshman, but she didn't even take the physical science, biology, and any required science class. How do you expect her to be prepared to attend a college when she has no science knowledge? There is one of the things I don't like teachers is that the teachers demand more money. They obviously do not care about their students except greed money. The education requires the finances to help the students to make a difference for their futures. Where is common sense?
The parents are responsible to make sure their children are well educated and well mannered. I strongly believe in personal responsibility. Unfortunately, this is extremely common when the ignorant and lazy parents have to fight with teachers after parents demand their children get an A after they failed the exams. Teachers and principals are under pressure constantly by the parents, and the education board to give them a shortcut by giving them an A. The education board do not want to be sued and cannot afford to lose any finance left that is supposed to cover the education programs. The parents need to stop suing by stealing money from the programs and the public schools. The parents should have to accept the fact the children should be working hard to earn a good grade, not a shortcut.
If I have my children, I wouldn't want to send them to the US public schools. I'd rather sending them to private schools. I have attended private schools before. The private education and enivornment were far better than the public education system.
Nobody likes war because sometimes war is necessary. Every war is different. Without the American Revolutionary war, we would pay high taxes and would be regulated by the British Parliament and King George III who had gone mad due to his disease, porphyria. The Founding Father rebels boycotted against The Boston Tea party, The Stamp Act of 1765, and the Townshend Acts of 1767 which lead to them wanting independence from the British Parliament. Samuel Adams and Paul Revere pretended to be Native Americans and got on the ship that carried the teas. They dumped teas in the harbor to get attention. Nice try, Paul and Sam.
In fact, One of the Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin's son strongly opposed the independence cause, and remained loyal to King George III. He was even arrested by the Patriots and remained prisoner of war for two years. At first, Benjamin Franklin didn't support the independence. Benjamiin Franklin grew increasingly divided by his devotion to his American colonies and his loyal to King George III. Benjamin Franklin chose to support the Patriot's cause and tried to convince his son to join him. Later, the relationship fell apart. The problem is the British Parliament refused to accept the independence from the American colonies. The British Parliament had to send the British forces to control the American colonies, which lead to the American Revolutionary War.
In fact, after George Washington became the US president, he warned us that U.S. shouldn't meddle with foreign wars, and European affairs. He also said that the US must concentrate only on American issues and interests.
There is one of the things I disagree with George Washington that he was against involvement in European wars and entering into long term entangling alliances. The series of the Neutrality Acts are one of the classic examples. It was amended four times. Do you know what it means? It meant to keep the US out of any future war. In 1935, Mussolini invaded Ethiopia at the same time, US Congress passed the Neutrality Act of 1935, applying ban on the arms shipments from the US to any belligerent nation, including Italy and Ethiopia, and it regulated his right as President to assist friendly countries. Congressional isolationists strongly supported it and passed it. Roosevelt opposed the act on the grounds, but he signed it anyway. Why? The public isolationists supporting the Neutrality Act was overwhelming. He signed it by winning the public support more. FDR used the Act to prohibit Americans from traveling on ships to either Italy and Ethiopia.
In 1937, Japan invaded China. FDR declared no government-owned ship to carry arms to China or Japan. Thanks to DuPont Co., a private company agreed not to sell arms to China or Japan, but US exports to China and Japan continued, especially through England. Hitler's power rose rapidly and simultaneously. The WW 2 broke out in September 1939.
During the World War II, UK and Prime Minister Churchill begged U.S. to help defeating Nazi Germany, but FDR declared neutrality under the Neutrality Act of 1937 he himself signed before. The Neutrality Act of 1939 was passed and signed by FDR allowed all belligerents to be supplied on a cash and carry basis, this benefited the UK, and France (still at war with Nazi Germany), but US vessels were forbidden to enter combat zones and US citizen still were barred from sailing on belligerent vessels. The act was amended in Novermber 1941 to remove theses restrictions following the approval of the Lend-Lease Act to aid anti-German allies, later USSR. A few weeks later, Pearl Harbor attack occurred on December 7 1941. FDR finally declared a war against Japan and Nazi Germany. He waited too long before he declared a war. The Neutrality acts failed to achieve their primary goal of keeping the US out of war. FDR mentioned he regretted to sign the Neutrality Act in the first place.
