Not so fast my friend, i got a quote for ya:

"People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid."
-- Soren Aabye Kierkegaard

Nice retort!

Yep and they better back up their opinions with evidence, otherwise others will dismiss what they say. No one has been able to come up with any facts supporting the accusations vs Pelosi. If they were to do so, I'll listen up.

Exactly. Show me something that is substantiated, and I'll be glad to consider it.

Good one, SoS! I'm gonna save that one.

I mean no disrespect, but if everyone here has a right to exercise their freedom of speech, so do I without being called an extreme leftist or a liberal.

Well, please tell me. Why are there people still call me ignorant, racist, hateful tart, and etc etc when they told me it is a fact that "I" am really, and it's part of speech of freedom? I see people are doing a such silly thing.

=/

I have no idea why people say the things they do.

...To thread creator, I´m sorry to say that the title of thread, you create make no sense. They should focus on people who authorize the torture and torture the victims because it´s crime what they did but Pelosi?
Let me help you understand the title: Who is right, Pelosi or Panetta?

Pelosi said the CIA lied to her.

Panetta said the CIA did not lie to Pelosi.

They can't both be right.

Who cares? I don't think she recalled a discussion about waterboarding. I would probably overlooked as well.

"Enhanced interrogation" sounds so glossed over.
You would overlook waterboarding? Then I guess it's not so bad or important?

The sad truth is that if Pelosi were a Republican, none of this would even be of concern.
If Pelosi had been a Republican, she would have been forced to resign by now.

I agree. We have more important things to worry about in this country.
It doesn't bother you that the person third in line to the presidency can't be trusted to tell the truth?

Besides, it's the Democrats that brought up the subject of waterboarding, so it must be important to them.

See my edited post.

The fact of the matter is that Pelosi can do nothing right as far as the Republicans are concerned. That is disappointing.
Yes, it is disappointing that Speaker of the House can't do anything right. Maybe they selected the wrong person for the job.

Why should Pelosi be held accountable if the Commander in Chief is not going to be held accountable? That is nothing more than scapegoating to create an appearance of dealing with those who are responsible.
She brought the criticism upon herself when she accused the CIA of lying to her.

Like was said, "according to the Republicans". But it would be more exacting if "right wing independents" were added, as well. This statement is just verification.

Can't be trusted to tell the truth?:laugh2: Just because there are a few paranoids doesn't make it fact.

Accord News TV, Pelosi said that she only criticized the Bush Admin., not the bureaucrats at the CIA. What Pelosi pointed out about Bush Admin. and torture issues is correctly.
I don't know who "News TV" is but according to the Associated Press:

"Pelosi was unusually harsh in describing the CIA.

'They mislead us all the time,' she said. Asked whether the agency had lied, Pelosi said yes."

Pelosi: CIA misled her on waterboarding

Perhaps you are referring to the backpedaling she did the next day.

Pure supposition. Can, in no way, be substantiated as fact.
I'll accept your statement if you'll say that it also applies to this:

"The sad truth is that if Pelosi were a Republican, none of this would even be of concern."

She has been also criticized by her fellow Dems, so what does that prove? Could it be possible that it's her own blundering that draws criticism?

Are you including Democrat Panetta as a paranoid?

Just want to chime in - Leon Panetta served as President Clinton's White House Chief of Staff from 1994 -1997.

What difference does that make? Him being a part of the Clinton Administration has nothing to do with whether or not Pelosi should resign. If I'm missing the reason why you brought this up, please let me know because I'm wondering what the relevancy is. Thanks! :)
