I have a few old high school friends who will comment on my posts about hearing loss, but not many. My family totally ignores it except for my kids.
 
I was old my school because people hate on AG Bell, outrage because teacher abuse to me stupid not allow sign language not fair! right human!
 
Alexander Graham Bell supported eugenics. Enough said.

My family too. That's kinda awkward. I've always wondered if my friends noticed that on Facebook. There was one time when I was talking about my problems trying to contact BELL, my phone company when people commented and a few even volunteered to phone them on my behalf which was really sweet of them, considering one lives in England! One asked why didn't I ask my sisters and I had to sidestep that question for diplomatic reasons.

Involved with AG Bell since 1985, the Saskatchewan Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf has focused its’ efforts on encouraging hearing impaired individuals to communicate by developing maximum use of residual hearing, speech and language skills; promoting public awareness and understanding of hearing loss in children and adults; and working for better educational opportunities. The Association gathers and disseminates information on hearing loss, including its causes and options for remedial treatment. Their conferences and workshops provide networking opportunities for families and professionals across Saskatchewan. Some of their achievements include: a K-8 summer camp; scholarships awarded to post secondary hearing impaired students; annual conferences/conventions; a newsletter published 4 times a year, and a Cochlear Implant Fund established in 1994. Each year, families gather to share a day of fun filled activities and getting to know each other a little better.
