She was deaf and back in those times deaf folks were easily manipulated....kinda like now.....![]()
Were/are they hearing friends?
All of them is hearing. Only deaf friends supported my comment. Funny how different between hearing and deaf?
Facebook really showed me the difference. If I post about anything deaf, anything, whether serious or funny or whatever, no response whatsoever from the hearing people. I post about other topics - yak yak yak.

yeah, one messaged me privately asking my views on CIs and why I never got one and i was honest with her. I was friendly in my response but honest and she got pretty upset and couldn't understand why i wasn't banging on doors to get one. She wanted me to tell her it's a miracle. Told her she asked for my opinion and she got it. That was that.
I posted about Alexander Graham Bell on my facebook. Most of my hearing friends think it is okay for deaf children to learn oral only! That ticks me off.

That's what's hard for me to deal with - hearing people being dismissive of Deaf people's views on matters relating to deafness. It was such a relief to come here and finally learn that I'm not alone in my views and that they do count.
