If you ever witnessned a shuttle launch you know its awesome. I saw a shuttle launch you feel ground vibrations see flame lit so bright and when its up you can hear the engines running. For those have not witness a launch i suggest you go see it while you can cause in about 5 years from now those launches will be history.
Next Shuttle Launch.

I was there this past summer, but I had to leave 2 days before a scheduled launch. :( I would have paid good money to see that!

we have NASA in huntsville, ala abt 25 to 30 min from my home.. i drive thru there many time... also one time i watched when the space was ready rocket!

I know Huntville, Ala has NASA but it does not do the rocket there, only do in Florida (Kennedy Space Center). Houston, Tx does the body of rockets and shuttle there.... Huntville is musum of rocket and shuttle..ofc technicail works there, too. I went visit there in 1978 to 1980 during I was in alabama school years.

Space Camp is located in Huntsville. Not only that, there is where the International Space Station (ISS) were being built few miles from the location from the Space Camp and it was pretty neat to see that. I think it's called Marshall something, not sure.

I've been to Kennedy Space Center with my family nearly a decade ago. It was fun but I'm certain things have changed very much since I last went there. 10 years is pretty long, things are changing especially in technologies. It doubled, then tripled, then so go on as day passes on. It was a fun experience to go, but don't get the wrong idea to think it's just an educational trip. It was well worth it.

Had visited NASA Johnson space center (also known as headquarters for NASA) in Houston. Would like to visit the other 3 NASA places: Edwards AFB in California, Kennedy space center in Florida, and of course Huntsville, Alabama.

Kalastic -- you are right about Space Camp in 80's. I went there for musum and FUN rides (limited in 1978-1980) till Tweey and other of my friends told me it added more and more. Dang! I missed Space Camp with my best friend in Alabama. It happens same time with my another camping back in Texas.
