Did you post a lot right away or did it take you a while before becoming a regular here?

For me, it took me about 6 months before I started checking AD on a daily basis, I think.

The reason I asked cuz I noticed that many people come here and introduce themselves but dont post anywhere else. :)
 
I didn't actually sign up for a little while. Every so often I'd just check the forums and just see what the people were like. I don't remember why I finally decided to sign up, but I did, and I posted a little bit in April... mainly in the Current Events forum... but it took be a good couple months until I started looking elsewhere and posting regularly.
 
I'm a chatter box. The moment I signed up I started posting ;) . Though my posts have slowed down for personal reasons!
 
I did alot of reading when I first joined, so much info in so many great threads.
 
I came slinking in fearfully. I have since blossomed! :P
 
i signed up in 2003 and did post a few times. Then all of sudden, i stopped coming to ad for a while. i left my account alone in case. each year, i checked on ad few times until 2008, i started posting more lately.

same here. I signed up 2 years ago and didn't participate much after several months cuz I was extremely busy with school and work at same time. Beginning of last year - I started heavily posting cuz i had lot of free time. :cool2:
 
I am a lurker type upon joining forums. Only when I find it reasonable to establish an identity, then I do it.
I started reading in 2005-06 randomly, started up an account in 2006 to ask a question about genetics about the chances of a child being born deaf.. deja vu @ loghead's thread.

I just sat around lurking from time to time while I participated on other forums that I went to.
Now I gave up all of those forums -waste of time imo, and am just focusing here, where it seems to be the most suited rather than finding only a few similarities on the other forums.

I can give you my opinion on that, I noticed this seems to be a trend with a lot of online forums. I don't know the exact answer to why they do this, but there are lots of hints I can determine.

Anyhow, the method I try to incorporate to get them to "chill" around here is to talk or encourage them to answer questions I ask in their thread that aren't yes/no answers, if something kicks off I refer them to somewhere else on here that others were talking about it too. A little "hello!" is nice to give, but just the hello alone does not encourage them to do much else, just my opinion. Needs a little boost.
 
I signed up in Dec 2007 but didnt start posting regularly until Dec/Jan 2009
 
When I first joined... I didn't post much, only just lurked. Then since last year, I've been checking AD every single day, became obsessed with it like I am with Facebook. Now I post quite a bit and I check AD every day, often during the day like I would with Facebook.
 
I had signed up about 3 years ago...and had forgotten about it as I was busy with other sites....but at 1 site, there was a lot of discord there...so I quit...and a friend suggested AD...so I came back...to find that I had already signed up 3 years before!.....

So glad I did! It's so enjoyable here!....As for posting and all, I think I started off quite slowly just feeling my way around....But my love for reading and learning new things keeps me posting!!

Kudos to "saywhatkid" for bringing me here!...He's a great guy!
 
I didn't start posting regularly until about a year ago. I lurked sometimes before that, but mainly I forgot about the site because I didn't bookmark it. Not sure what made me think to come back but I'm glad I did.
 
I didnt start regularly posting until mid 2007, now as a well known australian, :cool2:
 
First I was lurking for some times before I joined in 2006. I posted here and there many times. Now I only posts now and again. :)
 
I was here a long time ago under the handlename of Freaky... when you kiddos were in the bush.

bbnt had his famous story "AD soap opera" , there were the Charlie Chickies, we had our chickionary.. those were the days!!
 
I am not sure if I still remember, but I don't think I post much till I get used with the AllDeaf :)
 
When I first signed up in AllDeaf, I didn't post much, so I did lurked and read a lot and only post once in a while.

I guess that I became regular around 2006 or 2007. (I can't remember which year) :)
