What will you do with your Christmas tree?

Actually no, Remember that people in those pionner days had to use logs right away to build their cabins for shelter and made a table and chairs things like that for their shelter. Research today shows it is better to let chopped wood air dry but you can do it on the spot after the Christmas tree is taken down then chopped or chainsawed for a carpenter's project.

Yeah, that's called "green" wood. Go ahead and first see if you have enough lumber to make a book shelf and a night-stand, which I doubt, and then watch it shrink away, lol.

shrink away, you mean by ants eating it?.. :ugh:

Lol, no, Angel, Heath said he wouldn't have to wait for the wood to dry for making something as delicate as a night-stand, for example. So wet or "green" wood is wood that has not dried to relative humidity and it will shrink on it's way to drying. If one makes something delicate with "green" wood, it will shrink, split, etc.....

No blondie, He meant that you cannot possible make a bookcase with just one Christmas tree, because you won't have enough wood.

pack it up back in the box and throw it back up in the attic. its a fake tree. lol obviously.

If you had any woodshop knowledge. That will not happen and " green wood " is a myth. They want to sell you a can of varnish then you do the finish with a brush then they make a profit and I can tell you there is alots that can be done with one Christmas tree. Don't limit yourself.

With the right tools , it is possible to make anything from one Christmas tree. :)

I won't have a Christmas tree this year as I just moved to a new apt. Seperated at Christmas but much happier. If I did have one, the city has a recycling program and I would take it there. Sometimes in the past we have dumped it in the pond. It makes a great bed for fish.
