I bought a Rubik's cube when it first came out. I was in college at that time. I no longer have it because a friend destroy it by taking it apart and putting it back together. It didn't feel right. Another friend peel the colors off and put it back. Apparently they feel frustrated that they couldn't solve it and cheat - nevermind that the cube belonged to me. Sigh! I have another cube but it is not the same thing.

Growing up I had and still do have an abnormal fear of china dolls & clowns so I didn't have too many toys. Forget about Barbies because I was & still am quite a tomboy.

My uncle and his wife would be international hosts to many overseas students so the students would give gifts as thanks. One gift was Russian dolls and that started my fascination with foreign artifacts.

Picture description - The Russian dolls are smooth to the touch. There are 4 in the picture. They are black with red strawberries. They are blonde with blue eyes.

My favourite toy would have to be this one! Remember I'm a tomboy so my sisters and I would fight tooth and nail over this one. I'd always remove the back so I'd have more pedal room & go fast!

My mother was quite disappointed when me and my sister was little girls, because she used to love dolls and stuff and she wanted to pass on and give us dolls and stuff. but me and my sister had none of it, we hated dolls and stuff, we were kinda tomboyish. we loved running around and making dens on the field

my brother, my sister and I used to have this go kart we used to love playing on, sure there were many arguments over who would go on it.

we also had a skateboard, we didnt actually skate on it, we sat on it and rolled down our garden hill on it

I felt a little bit bored and earlier I was reminiscing with my friend about stuff we did in our childhood. We were laughing so hard!!!!

So I'm curious, what did you guys play with/or do when you were little?

+++++

I still remember when my dad took me to the store and I got my first bike, which happened to be in RED (no, not pink! - despite me being a girl!) I was a tomboy!!!! :D

I LOVED my bike. I barely ever was home spring/summer/autumn ... always up to no good with my friends (whom were all boys!!!)

When I got older (8-9 years) I became more of a girl and played with Barbie, but still my favorite thing actually to do was to hang out in the woods and do god knows what kind of crap with my friends!

Favorite toys: my beloved RED bike, my AWESOME Lego collection!!!! As well as puzzles and of course... books ;)

My absolute best friend as a young child was Edmund, my teddy bear. He went through a lot of things with me, and, in fact, Edmund exists to this day, a little tatty and careworn, but whole enough for me in a special place in my home. I still get him out from time to time, just to remember.

My favorite toys were my Breyer model horses. I had over 500 of them at one time, out of the 500 only one had a broken leg. I had a house fire when I was 19 and lost them all. Sad... no one thinks to tell a young kid to have renter insurance. When I tallied it up for loss on my taxes, the collection was valued at over $60000! Darn!!

I remember having one of those big wheel tricycles, I was pushing it then shoving it into the metal trashcans that we had. Well one night we were having a cook out on our new mini-grill and dad had just set it on the lid of one of the metal trashcans for it to cool off. About that I time I came around the corner and yelled "WATCH THIS" completely not thinking - and blam hit the trashcans, mini-grill with hot embers flies off into the freshly mowed yard and even set a small patch of grass on fire which was right next to the garage. ooops.

I recall my mom yanking me up by my arm and wearing me out for it. My dad yelled at me, and the big wheel simply disappeared that night. I don't even remember playing with it again after that. I think dad probably hauled to the dump in the wee hours of the morning. We was pretty upset.
