What was the last movie you watched?

I watched The Signal on Netflix and it reminds me of the cause of apocalyse in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. It's a great movie and I'm going to buy the DVD.

I recorded Iron Sky last night... so I did watched it today and I did almost choked on my food with laughing when the Germans (on the moon) mentioned about their outdated 1945 computers to compare with the iphone (smaller computer).

Welcome to the Punch. not bad, sorta not much newer than Beverly Hills Cop,, and less fun, but more serious, so kinda showing me some Brits films still got a Loooong way to go go for that particular type of genre, (like it just caught up, but it lacks the 'punch" (pardon the pun here!) of creativity in using electronic music - recall Axel F, in Beverly Hills Cop, and a well-sewn in comedy by Eddie Murphy, all this to make a film memoriable.
On other hand, while it's NOT the latest film I've seen but worthy to mention for comparison (somewhat), a film "Dirty Bomb". To me, an excellent artwork of a film, in its own right, with a level of realism, along with a different kind of dramaticism. This is ahead of what Amercia (Hollywood) could offer. The high level of realism in Dirty Bomb made is very memoriable, in its own special way. (see it for yourself, it is argubally the more realistic 'action type' film I've seen)

In a nutshell, it is not always possible to compare which one is ahead, but to discern which offers more tactic treatment in a certain genre over the other, in which they specialise.

Mom. It's about a son who is trying to keep his mother from eating people after she was bitten by a werewolf.

I like it but I think I would like the movie even more if the son isn't so annoying. God, he really is and in some scenes I wanted to staple his mouth shut and at one point of the movie, I was hoping the mother would eat him. I love his mom more than I hate the son so my love for her makes up for it.

I saw Grave Encounters recently (Netflix). Here's a trailer: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn3fDvUXFps&sns=em]Grave Encounters (2011) - Official Trailer [HD] - YouTube[/ame]

This is my favorite scene from House on Haunted Hill.

And this scene is from Grave Encounters which is very similar to my favorite scene. WTF? Hell to the no!

Other than that, Grave Encounters is good for one time watch. There's a scene that freaked me out but has been done so many times which is when something is dripping on someone's head and then when they look up, surprise an enemy is right there!

The last few movies I watched recently were...

John Dies at the End - This is one of those weird dark humor horror scifi movies.
Sinister - This movie has Ethan Hawke. Pretty good, but a bit predictable for me.
Stitches - Another weird horror movie. This has the guy who plays the adopted son in The Sarah Jane Adventures (for those of you who like Doctor Who stuff).
Almost an Angel - This is an oldie, but I like it. I rented it for my wife and we enjoyed it.
The Wig - An Asian horror flick... just weird and creepy.
Silent Hill: Revelation - This is the sequel to Silent Hill (also based on a video game).
The Package - This movie has Dolph Lungren and Steve Austin. A good muscleman vs muscleman movie.
V/H/S - This is an amateur footage type of horror movie.

Just saw Assassins with Yun-Fat Chow. I thought it's just okay movie - kind of easy to predict what would happened at end.

sexy evil genius
not bad...but expect to watch the film in one room almost the entire time, dialogue driven....excellent in that aspect , crafty script otherwise if you prefer places and action dont see it

The Host,
i reall enjoyed this one, its thought-provoking without being too difficult to consume the films contents.
it is very fresh.
its cool, some people might not think so, tooo bad, I enjoyed it!

Blast From the Past. I bought the DVD for my dad and the look on his face is similar to 5 years old boy's reaction when he open the best birthday present. It's his favorite. I watched this many times when it came out and it's still pretty good today. The dance he did in the girl's living room had me laughing.

I also watch Re-Animator. It's not bad but less better than I expected. The DVD artwork is fucking awesome though! (80s horror movies always have the best artwork cover)

It's actually good movie. At first, I thought it would be just a okay movie, but after I watched it - I enjoyed it very much.

Yeah, I remember you liked the movie. In my opinion, It's one of very few comedy movies that actually have a pretty good storyline.
