What U.S. President is you dislike and why?

I think I get your point. During WWII the U.S. went to war with Germany even though they had not directly attacked any U.S. territory, whereas Japan was the country that actually attacked U.S. forces and territory. We did not wait for Germany to drop bombs on us. You are comparing this to the 9/11 attack, and our war in Iraq. Correct?
Yes ,,,in 1944 we liberated france from adolph hitler,,,AND during 9-11 we liberated iraq from saddam.

That's interesting. I was a teenager during LBJ's term, and I remember how hated he was. Many people protested his escalation of the Vietnam war. He was not a very nice man.

I was on active duty in the Navy when Carter was President, and he was not held in high regard by many people. He was a decent, moral person, but a very indecisive, uninspiring leader. He was the one that dimmed the Christmas tree lights and cancelled U.S. participation in the Olympics. Big downer.
I remember when LBJ took a photo op with a planeload of GI's on the runway. He gave a nice fine speech, shook their hands, and wished them good luck in Vietnam. Boy were those guys shocked! They had just finished their TDY in Nam and were getting off the plane back in the states! :jaw:

Actually, you’re right. I’m over-romanticizing LBJ simply because he took the mantle of command from JFK, and because he was one the last presidents to serve before the United States ‘lost it’s innocence’ and went into its downward spiral of social decay. He should have done more to disengage activities in southeast Asia. As Nixon put it when he was campaigning in 1968, "those who have had a chance for four years and could not produce peace should not be given another chance."

As for Carter, I would never even begin to suggest that he was Mr. Charisma. But at least he is respectable for his ethics. When Carter said something, I always operated under the assumption that he was telling the truth—an assumption I wouldn’t make with any other president of late.

I remember how hated he was.
*strums her acuostic gutair*
Hey,hey LBJ....how many kids did you kill today?
Reba, I know he went to Ivy League Schools.....so what? That doesn't make him educated. He probaly got strings pulled for him to get into school....we don't live in a meritrocracy...we live in a society where it's who you know that gets you where you are!

Ok we can argue about this untill the cows come home. But Whats the reason to attack germany for? They didnt attack peral harbor huh??

When we declared war on Japan, Hitler declared war with the US next day, I think. Japan and Germany were allies at that time, alongside with Italy.

During 9-11? You make it sound as if we liberated Iraq whilst New York City was taking cover under the debris of the collapsing Twin Towers. :nono:

In any case, deaflibrarian is absolutely correct here about combined efforts between nations to end the wars. I am tired of Americans thinking that the French are nothing but pigheads, whereas it was the French who helped the Americans gain their independence in the American Revolution. The German Hessians helped the British soldiers.

Not only did we liberate France, but we also liberated several another countries in Europe from the German Reich, including Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, etc... And most of these countries decided to be against the Iraqi invasion (and rightly so!). I think it says something about the declining values of Americans, thinking that they can police the entire world.

I dont like bill clinton cause he lied about raising taxes on the wealthy and he lied under oath and didnt get thrown out of office unlike nixon did.

You obviously know who I really loathe. Can't you see that Bush did a lot worse than what Clintion has done? He just fucked an intern and Bush lied under oath, lied to the UN, lied to America, lied to 90% of the world, about WMD's, The war in Iraq, etc. He has caused many deaths (over 10,000 innocent iraqis in Iraq and close to 1,500 american troops dead now) So you are saying that you dislike clintion only because he lied about raising taxes and lied under oath for fucking an intern?

Heres a list of things Bush has done:
- Shattered record for biggest annual deficit in history.

- First president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.

- After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, he presided over the worst security failure in US history.

- In his first two years in office, over 2 million Americans lost their job.

- Presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed.

- Had more states to simultaneously go bankrupt than any president in the history of the United States.

- Presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud of any market in any country in the history of the world

- First president in US history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 US elections).

- First president in US history to unilaterally attack a sovereign nation against the will of the United Nations and the world community.

- Took the biggest world sympathy for the US after 911, and in less than a year made the US the most resented country in the world (possibly the biggest diplomatic failure in US and world history).

And so on... Compare all of that to Clintion please and for once... Open your eyes Steve.

I dislike Bush for one he is a part of this organization called Skull since his college day.

So you dont think sexaul harassment is a crime huh? That what bill clinton was doing to serveral women in his lifetime. He even sexauly harassed Paula jones and jennerfer flowers. I dare you try to do that to a woman and they may call the cops on you and youll know what the cops will do.

Which is worse? Sexual Harrasing Monica or Having a record of D.U.I. (Under the influence of alcohol while driving) and possesion of cocaine, sending troops to kill tens of thousands of innocent people.

And Steve since you are too retarded to read things...

It said, "First president to enter office with a criminal record"

That means he already had a criminal record before being president, Clintion did the sex scandals during the presidentry.

Beowulf, I get real tired of people, both here and abroad running down my country. I realize that few here remember young men coming home from a war they didn't agree with, watching their friends die, 58,000 of them, only to be spit on when they got off the plane. VFW's who refused the veterans entry, a VA that refused treatments. I know that it is easy for people who have never served ANY COUNTRY to sit fat and sassy on their rears and pass judgement on the world around them. I wish the world was like that Coke commercial too. But it is not.
