Darn good question, at first I was thinking of battery overflow, but again usually it is plastic tubing not metal. Then it could be fuel overflow but I could be wrong.
I would have to refer to owner manual or Clymer book.
I tried looking around but I don't see any.... maybe I missed it again. I hate not knowing anything INTIMATED about my bike![]()
btw - what's battery overflow?
ah-ha.... a fellow biker from other thread just PM'ed me that it's a 12V accessory plug. SWEET!![]()
Are you sure? It does not look like that. If it does, it would have shown brass or copper pins or something like that.

yea I guess he's pretty sure cuz I posted it in Chain Gang forum (a reputable forum only for my bike model). It did look like a cigarette lighter electrical plug but I wasn't sure since it's way down there. I think it's designed for Battery Trickle Charger![]()
can you trace it and see where it leads?
That is what I would do![]()
I'll just trust a fellow biker's word who has same model as mine.
I was looking around my motorcycle (2003 BMW F650GS) and I saw this on my left side, on engine area. Can any of you biker tell me what the heck is this??

it was an add-on accessory to have a direct access to battery for battery trickle charger otherwise it takes about 15 min to take 3 covers out. The battery will go dead after about 2 weeks of no riding. I read that F650GS bike has a rather weak/ineffective alternator.![]()
