What is everyones plan for the July 4th weekend?

I will go to my roommate's house for BBQ and go to Independence. :)
 
As with all holidays, will be spending it with family. Big backyard cook out and games. Fireworks to follow.
 
They just lifted our burn ban, so there may be fireworks. We don't go since I hate crowds and it's too hard to keep track of my mother. I will be grilling burgers and dogs, we also have baked beans potato salad and cole slaw. Then I will grill some peaches and have ice cream on the grilled peaches. MIL has never had that and I was wanting to treat her. (remember, I am doing the killing with kindness process with her).

Agreed. I am not fond of the commercial displays, either. Too many people crowded. My nephew lives out in the country on several acres, and his house is where the family gathers for holidays. We set off legal fireworks at his house. The kids seem to enjoy it more than actually going to the display in town.
 
Everyone is having hot dogs here. This afternoon there were hardly any hot dog buns left on the store shelf. I managed to get the last 2 whole wheat hot dog bags. I hate white bread. I'm was happy! :D

Well now that Canada Day is over. My husband and his friend finally fixed the thermostat yesterday (Sunday night). But the weekend was over and we never got any rides to the Powwow ground in another reserve. Oh, well, we will have many powwows on the island and also a couple powwows on the mainland. I hope next year will be better than this year. :fingersx:

played with rat babies... played with cats, watched all the Harry Potter Movies again, and... played at the pool. Good weekend. And tomorrow I get to have a good day!!!
 
Today was one of the BEST 4th of July celbrations ever. Pool all day, dinner, and then fireworks at a school. What was awesome about it was that there was a live band, concessions stands, and shows at that event and then the firework show was one of the BEST I have ever seen. The way they designed the fireworks was spectatular! never seen anything like that in my life.

My day was an A +++++++++++++++++++++++ day!

When I lived in Richmond VA, I always loved going to Bryd park on the 4th. The fireworks aren't fancy but who cares as long as we have a good time.


I will never forget the time I invited a friend to Bryd park for the 4th. He kept whining about how the fireworks were nowhere near as good as the Disney World fireworks on the 4th. I was very annoyed.

I wasn't able to do much on the 4th today cuz power went out and I had just gotten home from the hopsiptial.

Yea...no stress at all. Both kids were great..they played with the other kids. It was hosted by the Latino Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association of the DC Metropolitian area. They picked a GREAT pool...actually, it was 6 different pools with different themes and a GREAT place for the fireworks show. It was in Wheaton, MD. Very strong Hispanic area so I felt right at home. :)

Our family went to the Riverfront Park again this year. It was great! There was a nice breeze the whole time, and we found a comfortable spot on the grass for our blanket and chairs. There were lots of food vendors to choose from. It was a good crowd of people. We had a very relaxed family time. The fireworks were fantastic! They were fired from a barge in front of us. Especially beautiful were the displays shot off low from the barge like bright spraying fountains.
 
I watched the fireworks last night in my hometown with my mother. I was in the car and had trouble seeing all of it b/c part of the tree was in the damn way. :lol: I know where to park next year. (cemetary)

I stayed home enjoying watching the fireworks from my master bedroom's window. :D
