What do I need to build my own pc?

I decided to purchase a BFG Geforce 6800 GT 256 MB video card.

Can you show me a picture of good case?? It hard to choose which case is better.. lol

Microsoft Windows XP Pro x64 will release on this fall but the problem is that only few programs can run on Microsoft XP 64bit edition but most programs can run with Microsoft XP 32bit edition. So there will be more programs coming to be develop for Microsoft XP 64bit edition soon.

Very good choice, I got a Geforce 6800 GT 256 MB but it is not a BFG because it was out of stock. The OC "Core clock: 370MHz" is harder to get your hand on. Good luck with it. Are you going for an AGP or PCI-Express card?

If you are going for an AGP, which one below are you looking at?

Make sure you get a good size power supply, specially if you are going to get these fine cards.

I got a 64bit processer, but I am runing on 32bit xp Pro for now, I am planing to buy Microsoft XP 64bit later when there are more programs run on it. It probably be in 1-2 years from now.

I think 480 watts power supply is recommended for 6800gt. I read alot that more is better which is not really true unless you putting extra stuff then yea I guess. I read that bfg just released 512mb 6800ultra PCI-E. So that mean you can have up to 1gb if you got a SLI motherboard (2x 6800ultra) To damn pricy caramba!

So x10oT whats the specs you putting on your custom gaming? Yea I'm interesting of building one too :D

This is my chassie (black). It costs around $100 bucks. But they're hard to find today.
But there's another chassie named "Wave Master" built by Cooler Master. It's same as my chassie but different design.
If you want different case than Cooler Master ones, then look at ThermalTake or Raidmax cases.

Make sure the case got support beams for Power Supply Unit.

My gaming pc spec:

-500 Watts
-Case Undecided
-Corsair 1 GB Memory RAM
-160GB Western Digital HDD
-ASUS A8V DELUXE ATX MOBO with Wireless Built-in
-256MB BFG Geforce 6800GT
-Plextor DVD Burner Drive

You forgot the processor.

It is difficult to show which is the best or 'good' case because of our different tastes... However you can browse through these sites to see if there is some case that you would like to get your hands on... Here it is:

I bought this Lian Li PC-75B case because it offers what I need. Bigger space for the air flow since I have a dual-cpu (each 3.06 GHz) motherboard and other things like Pinnacle's video capture card with a external box which vent more 'heat' than normal plus my multi-hard drives. Lian Li offers the best flexible system ever my hands on. I guess you are planning to build your own custom computer? If so, it is fun 'hobby'. I have builded several custom computers for myself, relatives, co-workers and friends.

Someday I will build a unique custom computer/case and submit the screenshots at site like this: http://www.coolcasegallery.net/ccg/

Nice choices. Don't forget to get the fans and other things that few AD'ers already mentioned. The most important: Don't ever forget to get a cooling fan for cpu too. It 'killed' one of my friends' computer when he didn't buy/install the cooling fan for cpu.

AMD 64bit 3500+ (2.2 GHz).. Do anyone kno how to overclock to 2.45 GHz?

I believe you are getting a 939 stocket system. Now, since you are going to overclocked that baby, make sure your Process is 90 nm. Why? because it run cooler. Yes, they costs more, but it's worth the cost. I don't know if you are getting a OEM or retail box processor. If you are going to get a OEM processor, it doesn't come with heatsink and fan, so MAKE sure you get a heatsink and fan before you turn it on. It only takes a few secs to trash it. For a retail box, it come with a heatsink, a fan, and a three years manfacturer warranty, but if you OC it, it's void the warranty.

For OCing, I am not the guy to ask. There are tons of forum boards out there for that imformation of how to do it. I also consider that you get a aftermaket CPU heatsink since you are going to OC. Make sure it is compatible with your motherboard. Some of those heatsink are so huge that you can't work on your RAM.

I found these cases very awesome! but I prefer

I noticed some cases you posted had thin aluminium sheets than mine. It compromised your parts when it come to accidents. I used to had black case with thin aluminium and plastic covers enough cause the minor cut injuries. It did happened to me when I tweaking around.
LL Warrior make fine strong case but too pricey. But Thermaltake cases may be your good choice. I been looking over those cases and Raidmax before Cooler Master Praetorian case caught my attention.
Most computer websites often reviewing the cases so you take a look at reviews before make a decision.

Yeah I know about that but some online shopping that are good cheap price but I really not familiar with some of them.. should I trust them??

BTW do you know how to overclock the system? I heard DFI is good motherboard to overclock (heavy mod). So is it worth to overclock?

Check them out at www.resellerratings.com. You can look up what people have had to say about doing business with them.

BTW...lots of good discussion of components and such here, but no mention of the tools (screwdrivers and such). A small thing, but it would be frustrating to get all your parts and find yourself without, say, a Philips screwdriver of the right size.
