What did you learn today?

I learned that hubby's new job is sending him as a fill-in for Monday's holiday to a not so safe town West of here by about 38 miles. It will be a 12 hour shift from 6pm Monday night to 6am Tuesday morning. At least this particular contract pays more, but I hate the town it's in. They recently closed down the prison there.

Thanks - he has asked me a huge favor for him. He is worried that he wouldn't stay awake for the drive home and that's such a dangerous road to begin with, that he wants me to do the driving. It will mean 2 round trips, but I can handle it better than he can. So, I get to take him out tomorrow leaving at 5pm and then leave here at 5:30 am Tuesday morning. Son said he might go with me just to keep me company.

Martin Luther King Day....lots of celebrations and parades here in my City...schools are not in session that day either and many places of businesses are closed.....

:laugh2:...do ya mean bowling tournament, Caz?...Hope ur son (the doctor) is making sure those old "tickers" are strong enuf for Sex....
 
I learned that it is actually pays not to cussing all the time. Saying it nicely can pissed off one easily than profanity could.

i learn if you ate whole tube of tooth paste it would kill you...alto i would think throw up before then,and why would you want to die by tooth paste

Well, I don't know why anyone would want to eat a whole tube of toothpaste...unless they were on a stranded island and that's all there was to eat.....(probably eat the tube too)....still yet...there are some strange people in this world.....:shock:

I think the danger comes from someone mistaking it for something else. I know tomato paste can come in a similar tube.

I did exactly that at age three. Candy wasn't allowed and I liked the sweet mint taste.

No one knew I did it, and I was very sick later in the day, but I didn't die even though there was no medical intervention.

I have learned that dolphins do not mate just for reproduction. They mate for pleasure as well.
 
I learned to never believe the news stations when they hype a "nor' easter with 5 to 9" of snow. Stayed home today and all we had was a dusting. I'm so embarassed...l can only imagine what they thought at work.....
