I cannot believe that an idiot who has no regard for his wife's garlic allergy is in a relationship. Yet, I don't have a relationship. Some people are so stupid!!!!

one hour ago lady top my road just killed her three children,taken herself to high rise carpark jumped off she dead aswell,children aged from 11months to 5yrs and she was 22..
these things happen on our doorstep....that is a good maxim to live by take some good out of each day...i been moaning about cops allday i stop moaning it pulled me up sharp what happen to young family just yards away

Wondering if she suffered postpartum psychosis? If so, it's a tragedy if no one recognized that she might be suffering from postpartum depression/psychosis. Or worse, if they ignored her symptoms.
 
Thinking how shocked my daughters will be if I decide to share a hotel suite (I'd sleep on the sleep sofa in the "living room") with two gentlemen and maybe share a roomette on the train with one of the gentlemen. All to save $$ (though the hostel is still less expensive for me). I won't be making this decision any time soon.

This will really irk my youngest daughter (19) because I wouldn't let her go to the beach with friends (mostly guys) Saturday night when they said they were getting a hotel room. She went down with others on Sunday.

Facing a gloomy day, lots of snow still hanging around and a mountain of work and wishing I was still in Hawaii where the views were much better!

Bott - Privileges and MATURITY. I'm sure my daughter would have behaved herself, but I don't know the guys and even if I did, hormones at that age...

RR - parents don't do that, do they :shock: :giggle:

I'm in my late 50's (tell me it isn't so :o). One of the gentlemen I'd sharing the suite (not the room) with is 69 and the other is around my age. Though I've met both a couple of times last year, I really don't know them other than their online personalities, but I feel comfortable doing this IF I do it. And we'll be hanging around with a bunch of other people (train fans) the whole weekend, men & women, so it's not like I'll be alone with them the whole time. And if one should misbehave, he'll regret it (where's Jess, may need some pointers :giggle:).
 
My asparagus plants are alive!!!

I thought they were dead. Planted them last year. But today little shoots are poking out of the ground.:wave: Yes yes yes yes yes!:h5::applause::h5:

Every year I used to think "well I don't know how long I'm going to live here" and not plant the stuff because it needs a few years to get going. But if I kept going that way maybe I'd never have asparagus, so last year I went for it. They look really good.

I also started blueberry bushes last year and already got some berries the first season - my god were they good. Plus cherry bushes, which haven't yielded yet, and yesterday I put in some fig trees. And I always have lots of raspberry bushes - they spread like weeds, and a bed of strawberries. Another bed for greens, and like every year I'll do a couple tomato plants. This is in a very small yard - if I put a few more things in I think I might be able to quit cutting grass - just put down some mulch in the paths between all the beds and other stuff:0

When I was first married, my husband grew asparagus. When he went out in the day to harvest it, I tried to stop him because I knew you had to harvest asparagus in the light of the moon...

He didn't believe me at all, and the next time we saw my father, I demanded that he explain this rule to my husband.

He shamefacedly came clean that in my childhood, they were harvesting asparagus on the property line, and didn't want any disputes with the neighbor over who the asparagus belonged to.

she was 9months pregnant

Well, if she was suffering depression/psychosis after her youngest was born, then the pregnancy probably didn't help. Or just the fact that she was about to give birth to her 4th child at such a young age. :(

This is one cute story- the only funny aparagus story I have ever heard. Thanks for the chuckle. :lol:
