LEWIS RUN, Pa. (AP) — Wesley Snipes has been released from a federal prison in Pennsylvania.

Snipes was convicted in 2008 on tax charges. He was released Tuesday and placed under home confinement. A Bureau of Corrections spokeswoman said Friday he'll be overseen by the New York Community Corrections Office until July 19.

Snipes has appeared in dozens of films, from "White Men Can't Jump" and "Demolition Man" in the early 1990s to the "Blade" trilogy. He entered the McKean prison in December 2010 to begin a three-year sentence for failure to file income tax returns.

Snipes belonged to a group that challenged the government's right to collect taxes. Prosecutors say he failed to file returns for at least a decade and owed millions of dollars in back taxes.

Snipes had appealed in an Atlanta court, saying he didn't get a fair trial.

Just in time for the making of The Expendables 4!!! ;)

Who knows, maybe Blade IV!? It will probably take place after the television series... or the producers will disregard the television series and make its own direct sequel to the 3rd movie.

Just loved all of his movies...especially "Blade"....And guessing too, he needs to get back to work....owing millions of dollars in back taxes isn't a piece of cake....

Good Luck, Wesley!

3years seems bit harsh

He had not paid taxes in over a decade...and owes millions of dollars....:hmm:...and do feel if he had been a "regular Joe" he would have gotten a longer sentence.....

But anyhow..."Blade II" was on last night on TV and I watched it...was somewhat "gruesome" tho'...(I just hid my eyes)...so since he's been released, seems his movies will be shown more.....

P.S. ...Wesley is a "hottie"!...:giggle:

Oh yeah, can't wait to see more of his marital arts movie. I remember watching him act as a bad guy in Demolition Man movie along with Sylvester Stallone.

Hopefully he'll pay up the taxes that he owes.

I imagine he'd want to get back to making films as quickly as possible - just after getting himself a trustworthy accountant this time....

oh, and Demolition Man was awesome :)
