Warning - may cause tears

all i see is that photo shows they have some love in my own interpretation.

Sweet photo??? It's a disgusting photo of a man that is obviously demonstrating emotional transference to his dog instead of to a human being.
I love my dogs too, Byrdie. Lots of people have emotional bonds to their pets. :(

Oh, man, something wrong with you, Byrdie. The dogs can be the men's best friends.

And that picture is worth of the thousand words.

Another word's--screw the veternarian for their work.

You don't ever hold or pet your animal? You do not feel any bond to your pet?

If I remember, you have a dog as well.

c'mon people.... lighten up! Byrdie's just kidding with the bestiality stuff. That's why I lol'ed.

I have seen homeless people with dogs often in some big cities. The people said that it helps homeless people to get more money when the dogs are with them because you know many animal lovers around.

That´s why I brought dog food to give homeless person to aviod to give money to him. We know that they get support with foods and drink and sleep in "homeless" house.

Jiro, :ty: for share touching picture of homeless man with dog... Yes I know many homeless people need dogs for company but sometimes it helps them to collect money from animal lovers when they see dogs.

Makes me question why a homeless person would be caring for a pet to begin with?

Pets are a financial responsibility. If one is homeless--why have a pet?

Question...When you become homeless and would you give up your dog?

That's very true!!! I have already done this on several occasions... (I mean, going to the store and buy food for the dog...) I once got a guy soup because he asked money for soup... He was standing right next to a place where you could buy food out on the street. So I said that I would prefer paying directly. He was very grateful! :D and it made me feel good inside! I'm still proud of it nowadays that I helped this man that day!

It is a difficult thing to see homeless people and animals all together.

I do understand Byrdies point on the fact of how is the animal being cared for, when its owner can barely care for himself.

The dog is a German Shepard. It looks very skinny!! :( The dog itself will prevent the man from getting proper shelter at night, due to most homeless shelters do not allow animals much less soup kitchens.

It's about making sacrifices when one is homeless and have no money to care for their dog or even to themselves.

Secondly--how I treat my dog is irrelevant to the topic at hand. We're talking about homelessness and pets.

If they truly love their animals--they would make a sacrifice and give them up. Remember--pets come and go.

Question...When you become homeless and would you give up your dog?

Highly unlikely that I will become homeless because I own 4 properties--so I can't answer your question. Sorry.

I have stated the same..

I was referring to bonding and showing affection to animals in general, such as holding a dog. You made it sound like it was disgusting to do so, by mentioning bestiality. Just pointed it out that it is normal, for any human to pet and bond with their animals. That is why they are called companions.

If they truly love their animals--they would make a sacrifice and give them up. Remember--pets come and go.

I agree, How can a person that can barely take care of themselves, Take care of an animal.

Wrong answer. You have no heart for the pet then.

I can really understand where Byrdie714 is coming from and others as well. The picture of the homeless guy with the dog looks real sad, you gonna admit it does break your heart.

You know homeless people are the loneliness people in the world they got nobody, and having a pet is like a survival tool, by keeping them alive getting extra love and attention by their pets. You know dogs don't care where they live, as long they have food and love. Bonding is everything. ;)

give them up to who? Many shelters are already overcrowded and chance is his dog would be euthanized. It is said that the happiest dog in the world is with a homeless person. much happier than a suburb dog because a homeless guy is a roamer, nomadic, traveler, etc. That is ultimately a dog's dream - to travel everyday along with the leader... exactly what the dogs' ancestors have been doing for hundred of thousand of years. That's why it's not uncommon to see a dog wearing no leash when walking with homeless person. :cool2:

Like I said - a dog can eat whatever the bum's eating. a dog can sleep in wherever the bum's sleeping at. a dog can shit/piss wherever the bum's pissing/shitting at.

Oh gee, it is heartbreaking to see that but at least he has
compassion for the dog!
It is getting to be a more common place nowadays cuz of
economy and all, in fact, the other day, we saw a homeless
lady was holding up a sign, begging for food for herself and her
dog! really sad sight to see. I hate that. :(

 Whatever Highlander. Apparently one can't comprehend that one won't be homeless.

That still doesn't compensate for the health of the dog. Afterall if the homeless individual can't pay for veternarian services for the animal--why should the veternarian volunteer their services? Afterall--veternarians attended school as well and should be compensated......

Secondly--I don't see any money in the man's hat and that is probably due to the dog being a German Shepard. Afterall--would you go up to a sleeping dog just to give money to his master on the street not knowing full well that the dog can respond by attack when startled?

it is sad. I feeling sad for you I forgive you..

PEACEFUL

If I lost my house, lost everything, and then I am not going to lose my dog because I know my dog is my buddy. The dog learn through its owner and are happy to stay with its owner, the dogs are "pack animals" which they need someone to depend on. Now you wonder why so many of dogs are sensitive to the new owners depends on their breeds.

If the dog is happy staying with a bum, then that's good. That is how the dogs are.

Byrdie, what's wrong with you? You are really cold heart over between homeless people and pets.

You will be homeless in one day, no matters.
