My union, United Food and Commercial Workers (aka UFCW) is running a campaign to change Wal-Mart. If you are interested in signing up and/or learning more about the campaign, please visit http://www.wakeupwalmart.com

Unions are illegal at wal-mart. Thats why sam walton made wal-mart un-union. Cause he didnt belive in unions.
 
i think walmart is a good store. They have the latest fad for people to wear but not so expensive too..
 
yah so is many other things... from china, or russian, look at yur computer or tv, or clothes, or anything. u will find most thing are made from china or russian
 
Um, unions aren't illegal at Wal-Mart. They've made every attempt to stop it from happening.

Unions are formed by having the employees vote.

Actually, they can't fire you for just that. They'll try to find some other reasons on why to fire you other than the fact that you may be trying to set up an union.

That is coming from a long time union member (that's me) in support of the unionization of WalMart's employees.

i work at walmart.. and i don't want to be part of union... i'm happy with my pay rate, and everything.. i'm happy.. why pay union if i'm happy with insurance, etc.etc...

Would they promote you to be a team leader or asst. manager since you are deaf or soon to be CI?

How do you know? Why dont you be a volunteer, wait for 90 or 120 days to be a permenant employee and rally for new union at Wal-Mart?

I strongly believe to support unions since Wal-Mart destorying many pop and mom businesses. They also destoryed Montgomery Ward and Woolco (where my mother used to work there). They also killed some of K-Mart stores. In future, there would be lots of Wal-Marts every five miles just like McDonalds and Starbucks.

Did you know that Wal-Mart contracted with vendors for cleaning service that they already hired illegal employees? They earned lowest wages than Wal-mart employees and buyers. Wal-Mart Corporate had to put their bonds to pay to the women for discrimating for not letting them to be managers.

im already a team leader. they offered me.. so i decline once.. then they offered me again with a 50 cents raise.. so i take the offer.
 
Wal-mart destroys forests of trees, also causes lots of sprawl. Wal-mart is very bad when it comes to environment-wise, same goes to other big box stores, too.

thats probally for other stores.. but the store where i am working is awsome. vairety of people are working.. but i don't see any blacks, however few blacks live in this town. but there's hispanic and whites.

the pay rate is excellent. i start working with $8 a hour in just a small town.. and most apts here cost $400 a month for 1 bedroom.

i now make over $10 a hour.. and i was told if i ever decide to transfer to another walmart in big city.. i'll be making more than $13 a hour.. and that's good.. but i decide to stay in small town.

maybe its different in another state? since minnesota law requires $6.15 min wage ($1 more than federal min wage)

mc donalds, target, kmart, kohls- they pay sucks, insurance sucks..

i just like my insurance.. they cover the cost of my hosiptalizing.. and i compare with my families their insurance are costly i'm fourntune that my insurance is cheap.. i choose insurance that is $500 dectuable. and i already used them all up cuz i got CI myself. now i can just go to doctor's office and get free check-up and so on..
 
another thing... my store has been gotten a huge bonus for 3 years straight.. each year the bonus are more.. its just keeps increasing.. all those bonus is all depend on sales we made, accident free, etc... the less accidents happen and more sales we get more money in our bonus check in mid march.
it just started in 2002 i think... for all stores. and bonus check can go up to $3,500 per employee. which is nice.

See...that's exactly why Wal-Mart is so cheap to offer you like a 50 cents raise. You should not accept the offer, idoit. Just ask for 5 dollars raise. If they ask you why? Your reply to them is do you have deaf employee in management. Are you really happy that you made extra $20 a week? Not enough to purchase anything but you may have buy a few more snacks on your break. You should made extra $200 so that you would put extra food on your table. Sam's sisters and family are having wonderful time at the country club while you sweat like a slave...

Yeah right about moving to big city for $13 an hour. That is a BS to me. Are you aware that any big city like Washington Metro (DC) for any apartment on average of $1,000 for one bedroom or $1,450 for three bedroom. Or purchasing new home for $650K or old home for $500K in fairfax, VA.

Give me a break. You better stay in your tiny town. You do not understand another employees living in big cities. Wal-Mart is so mean to every employees. I bet you dont want to move to big city. Are you really happy for your other Wal-Mart associates in big cities? Prove me.....

Yeah, your store manager makes $100K plus bonus. Sorry about that...
