I have a question about who is allowed to use another person's VP on Sorenson VRS.
Suppose Deaf Lass is visiting Deaf Lad at Deaf Lad's house. Deaf Lass wants to call Hearing Lass. Deaf Lass uses Deaf Lad's VP to make a VRS call to Hearing Lass. Sorenson operator/terp begins, "You have a call from Deaf Lass." Then a pause. Then, op/terp says, "Wait a minute, I need to check..." Pause. Click. End of call.
My question. Was the call terminated because someone other than the account holder was using the VP? Or was it just a coincidence?
Normally, when I, a hearing person, receive a VRS call, even if the Deaf caller hangs up abruptly, the op/terp will say, "The caller has hung up." Then I say, "Thank you" and the op/terp says, "You're welcome, good-by." I've never had the call just click, end.
No one called back later, so I don't think it was an accidental disconnect.
