I means Americans sing about their founding fathers. Does that means Americans are living in the USSR, United States Soviet Republic, now? I means instead of singing about George Washington, it's OBAMA!
I was born and raised in the United States, attended public schools, and have always enjoyed traditional American folk music. I've never heard nor sung a song to or about George Washington or any other American presidents by name.

I vaguely remember singing a song about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree. I'm sure that I learned other songs about Americana but I can't remember them now. Why do I suspect that these kids aren't going to remember this song either? I don't remember what I sang in elementary school. I do know who George Washington is, though, unlike kids in Oklahoma. Sorry, Oakies. It was a news item recently.

"Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say hooray!"
People still use "doth" today? I thought that was reserved for Shakespeare and hymns? ;)

Only us nerds. I like to tell my kids, "Ye stinketh verily." Too much Monty Python's Holy Grail also causes this. :giggle:

I thought the same thing.
It reminded me of an old joke...A hillbillie mother asked her daughter, "What were you doing on the porch last night with Slim?"
The daughter replied, "We were discussing kith and kin, mother."
To which the little brother, trying to be helpful, added, "Yeth, they wath, mother. He thaid 'Can I kith you?' and she thaid 'Yeth, you kin.'"
Hee hee

Or perhaps it was used to keep the timing and the rhyming correct.

Me neither.

I personally don't care what these kids sing. We're all screwed regardless.

I think this brainwashing kids! I would not want my grandchild or child doing this! Obama is not a god ! Parents should outrage about this!

I'd be more worried when they started singing the praises of Glenn Beck.
