I am all for Universal Health care. If I have to pay a lot for insurance, I'd rather for the money to go to those lazy bums who can't get a job than a fat cat rolling around in wealth.

Did you know that you can get $4 dollar generic prescriptions at Walmart? Why can Walmart afford to sell them for THAT cheap when they are like 40-50 dollars through the doctor? Simply because the private health care industry can just jack up prices to their glee.
Walmart.com: Pharmacy: $4 Prescriptions

People talk about how people can't afford health insurance. I'd like to tell you a story about my mom. She got a pinch nerve (surprisingly VERY painful). The doctor ordered her a MRI, sessions with a chiropractor for 6 months, and painkillers. How much did my mom pay? a little over 4,000 dollars.

Oh did I mention that she has excellent health insurance?

Although, I must add - I do agree with Jiro. We can't just automatically implement Universal Health Care right away. There must be a reform first.... a very very heavy reform, before we set the universal health care policy in stone.

Target offers $4 generic Rx medicines too.

Will Universal Health Care change into an ID National card ? :hmm:

Will Universal Health Care change into an ID National card ? :hmm:

No, it has nothing to compare with national ID.

Universal health care is means free medical service to people or citizens, they are funded by government, such as paid by taxes and universal coverage is social insurance that government control on cost of medical service to make affordable for citizens, both of them are not communist country-style as well. There's many other countries have universal health care and universal coverage.

Capitalism health care like USA has one right now isn't great anymore, unlike in last 10 years ago, when insurance were very cheap at this time and after in 2000's, cost of medical has went skyrocket, same goes on insurance and millions of Americans are left uninsured and many of them are filed for bankruptcy to wipe big medical debt off, that's not good and many people (such as medical companies, doctor, nurse, specialist, etc) are abuse on capitalism health care and become more useless.

No, it´s only healthcare insurance number to which company you choose to join.

Example, I went to Dentist this morning... They just asked for my heatlhcare card, that´s all. I pay nothing just healthcare card.

I came home from Dentist at hour ago. My left face is swollen after operation... (small bone in meat affected my one of teeth while I ate the meat yesterday)... It´s painful... I went to dentist straight way instead of go to work... He confirmed that my tooth is total damage so he pulled my tooth out and have few stitches on it... ) Dentist send me home for 2 days rest instead of go to work... I will go back to work with yellow sick certicate to confirm my employer that I am unfit to go work. I will go to Dentist again on Wednesday for stitches to remove. Suck... but good thing is I don´t pay but my healthcare insurance... :P

I am not talkin' about " compare ". I am talkin' about " change ".

I understand about Universal Health Care. :)

It's why I ask if, the Universal Health Care will change into an ID National card. The reason I ask this is because of United Nations will take over.

Unlikely, what would happen is that they would issue you a "Health" card. They do that in Canada.

Ah, okay. :ty: Do you think Universal Health care is really good ?

It could be happen in near future if medical service is continue to abuse or greedy on capitalism, increase percent of uninsured citizens, health crisis or related, capitalism need be careful and balance or you will screw up, it means federal would take away from capitalism health care and adopt new universal health care or social insurance and control cost of medical.

In USA, social insurance is very suit for us but universal health care would have some issues then better with social insurance, it means affordable insurance to people and government control on medical cost.

It's compare to government that adopted TSA in all airports after 9/11 and withdraw all securities from private companies, it does hurt capitalism as well.

For Patriot Act, Obama support to repeal it (remove it) and McCain favors to keep it, Patriot Act does take our rights away.

Socialized medicine does seem to be the answer to our costly healthcare issue. The only beef I have with it is that with my fiance being a doctor, I would not like the government telling him that he can't practice in a certain area because there are already too many doctors, and that he HAS to practice in this other area because they need doctors.

Privately funded insurance companies in the form of HMOs and PPOs are already making those decisions. Not to mention which, making diagnostic and treatment decisions they are completely unqualified to make, which physician a patient can choose, whether or not they can be referred to a specialist, and whether their treatment is justified. And their motive is all profit based per the insurance company.

yea.... good luck with that, UN. That also makes absolutely no sense. Why would UN take over because of National Card?

I learn that Theodore Roosevelt was for Universal health care in 1901. It's unfortunately, it been postpone and never happen. What happen?

What does the UN have to do with anything? I think your paranoia is beginning to rear its' ugly head again.

I do. Universal healthcare will lower the GDP (compared to what it is now) making it accessible to more Americans. That can only be a good thing. Besides, as Obama pointed out, you don't have to give up your doctor or current healthcare plan if you're happy with what you've got. Universal healthcare will only affect those who want to take advantage of the system -- not those who are already satisfied with their insurance carriers.
