Yikes, no traffic lights or warning signs to let drivers know to drive safetly. USA and Canada is way better so that we tried to stay safe.

I am surprised more people don't die in accidents over there.
I know this is referring to another thread in the Current Events forum, but shouldn't India invest in a couple of traffic lights before investing in space exploration?![]()

While it's a step up for deaf rights, it's still a big step.
So, I won't be surprised if there's an increase in vehicle accidents because a lot of older deaf adults start driving suddenly after spending most of their lives not driving.
Then those will be the lucky ones.I bet a lot of deaf people were already driving for years without a license in India.

This has worked for years in India and therefore to them if it is not broken why fix it? Maybe its just a cultural difference that makes it crazy to us, but to them maybe they think its crazy we have traffic lights and actual painted lines dividing the highway into various sections.

Have you ever seen how people drive over there? It's insane. All sorts of vehicles, bicycles and such sharing the same roads, it's hectic.
In those countries like India.. they do not have a controlled traffic system like America. They rely on auditory cues (honking, yelling, etc) to communicate with each other on unregulated roads. Turns out that it worked out pretty well for a long while... but it only takes 1 fuck-up to make a big mess.
I'm sure there are plenty of deaf driving over there. I'm sure there are late deaf people who won't tell anyone they lost their hearing. but seriously, how can people hear each other with so many loud traffics? I'm sure their muffler isn't all that good. And people honking all at the same time, how can they tell they are honking and yelling at you???
The traffic in India is like the traffic here back in early 1900s. Basically, traffic laws and stuff are stuck in early 1900's over there.
