Top ten reasons to move and not to move to Texas

not accurately... tornadoes do hit anywhere not just northern parts of Texas.. i have seen news that it did hit on West Texas not long ago.. and Southwest of Texas as well.. so really it can and will hit any where it want to...depend on right condition with more moistures and unstable atmosphere... who knows!

In West Texas know as Permian Basin, tornadoes hardly hit any city because the land are way lower level. Million years ago, the meteor hit that area.

I went to TX before. It's nice place and I met lot friendy deaf at Austin and nice party.

I don't see anything wrong with TX.

I wouldn't mind if I live in near to US-Mexico border (Rio Grande), such as Brownsville, Harlingen or McAllen.

El Paso is nice in some part, it's mostly like desert area.

I do remmy visiting Texas couple times, it was hot and humid there... Nothing wrong with it.

Perhap I was hainvg menopause every time I visit Texas :iolol:

no grassland? Anyway, there is dead volcanos, it happen long long long time ago. There is Big Bend is mix both Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. Yes, there is hot spring and steam :)

Mt. Rainier is alive.. it is active. its not dormant..it is just resting right now, though. the dangerous of it is lahars as it can happens occasionally. many volcanic mudflows (lahars) that buried areas now densely populated. so the risk of that is greater if it blow the top..

They also believe that Yellowstone can and will blow up one of these days. The Yellowstone Caldera is the largest volcanic system in North America. It has been termed a "supervolcano" because the caldera was formed by exceptionally large explosive eruptions.

Mt. St. Helens is more active than Mt. Rainier. Much more volcanic activitiy. There are 5 volcanoes in Washington state.

I am really into moving to Texas, but that is not the only one state that I want to move, I also want to move to Nevada, Arzonia, and New Mexico too. I have a friend who live in Texas for half year and live in Washington for half year. I will type out what I know about the reason why to move to Texas and why not move to Texas:

Why move Texas:

*Warm
*Cheap properties
*Good Deaf communities
*Good education
*Good jobs marketing

Why NOT move to Texas:

*Heat

Yeah I know the "NOT" list is only one, but that's all I know from my friend. I really like the dry/desert/warm area rather than the Washington with rainy, drama season changing, very wetty, etc. I have been living in Washington for whole my life, 20 years, and I always want to get out of Washington...

Just btw, I never been in Texas, I only heard from my friend that's all ;)

hey texans,

I researched and read that theres too many crazy drivers and fatal accidents in austin, because of cell phone users, reckless driving, lousy road signs, etc. I'm surprised the deaf texans haven't told me that stuff.

Yeah, it's a nice place.

You just have to be in the right place at the right time.

I've heard people say that New York sucks cuz they don't have a deaf community. Yet, they've never visited Rochester.

Dallas has a slow, but growing deaf community. They recently split their deaf school program into two districts. It used to be all in Richardson only (K - 12). A few years ago, they decided to expand. So, they established a deaf program in Dallas (5 minutes south of Richardson) and in Plano (5 minutes north of Richardson). Those who are currently in the Richardson deaf program can choose to continue there or transfer to a school closer to them. Others are automatically sent to the schools (with deaf programs) closer to them.

I beleive that Texas is a beautiful place but GUNs and big bugs... :Ohno:

Aw sheesh! I live near Kansas City and I'm well deep inside of Tornado Alley LOL. It's Wonderful to be in!!

My brother live in Dallas TX and I've been Texas before. It was nice and warm in October when I visited BUT he had been complaining alot about heat. Heat is his issue. He had hard time growing gardens in back yard cuz of dought. Texas is nice and Downtown Dallas are pretty spacy. I remmy I was in college and went with Dallas TX for Deaf Bowling Tournament in 1986. We drove around downtown and saw alot of Homeless people during dusk..

As for me, I would not want to MOVE to Texas. Missouri and Kansas is enuf for me cuz both states get heat from Texas. It's very hot during July, Aug and Sept (averaging 100 to 115 degree for few days) and HUMID!! and STICKY!!! Some year, sometime it had normal summer (80 to 95 degree). If anyone love being a cowboy, then move to Texas!
