Take a load of this! It is peak hour at Shibuya Station earlier this evening, and this has been taken by my Nikon D60. IF you have any quetions about Japan, feel free to ask, I will tell you a bit more in the next post when I have the time to type some. :)

What did you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner??? :)

Well, for me, we bought some australian cereals to save $$ for breakfast but for lunch and dinner is mostly sushi and chicken stuff with rice. It is delicious. Phillips, have you tried sushi from the nearby chinatown or store in your local area, si?

The culture in Tokyo, Japan is very different to what I have in Australia. For the start, as you all may know the food is different here - Such as sushi, chicken, rice, raw fish etc etc. But I can assure you that the food is delightful. The city is a bit of a 'futuristic' side. Such as there is no old cars around, but rarely seen. I see some few futuristic cars around like for example, Nissan Cube, below:

I was told that the was a rule with the cars, as I noticed most of the cars are pretty new to me, my father explained why... the old cars are quite expensive to register and inspect as well so the rule is to change cars every two or three years, even though people who is rich enough to pay the expensive expense...the old cars are sent to other countries which are poor etc. We have these nissian Skyline S33 for example (In australia)

The trains are mostly full at evening/night times, and we get tight spaces, to stand on the train, the seats are mostly taken but it is the way it is, the interior of the trains are different to what we have in Sydney.

The city of Tokyo is very clean, the roads are very clean, no rubbish around, they respect the waste and trash -- to make the 'planet' greener, the air is more 'fresher' In Sydney we get plenty of smog and pollution but in here in Japan, there is not one smog nor pollution. It is more of a 'clean' air which was interesting.

On my first day of the arrival in Narita Airport, I was on the train to Tokyo -- I see all these small houses, ALL of them are crammed to each other, there is no BIG houses, they are mostly small such as if I saw a Real Estate shopfront, houses are for rent and they are in small sizes - Why? There are too many people in Japan. Over 127 billion people, I can give an accurate similarity of China here.

Some of you know the kids go to school Monday to Friday, but in japan, they go to school Monday to Saturday. Only some times for sports day only and some people have only one day off school, like the weekend etc.

For these people who are 'salarymen' which incidates 'business' people, who wears suits and ties. They are not allowed to wear black suits --- which they are only for funerals and weddings, they are only allowed to wear suits in various colors besides black and whatnot ---like navy, grey, white and other relevant business colors

.....more to come later on

You must learn how to use chopsticks. :giggle: I can know how to use them.

I have been using chopsticks for many years whenever my father cooks japanese dinners back at home in Australia :laugh2:

Wow. Cube are too small like Toyota Scion.

My friend had visited some deaf friends in Japan last several years ago. He told me that many small houses are very crammed. too costly.

Mod's Note:

The thread has been moved to it's proper location.

The rush hour looks amazingly crowded. I do like the look of the Nissan Cube.

Interesting pictures.

er, not 127 Billion, the population of the entire Japan is approximately 127.3 million and Tokyo has about 12 million. The world population is now approximately 6.7 Billion.

I guess you were awestrucked as it seemed millions in the city, so you wrote Billions.... as a reaction...no harm done, I probably would have reacted in this similar way seeing an overwhelming number of people squashed all in the same place. It would have been unbelievable.

Cheers

Ooh! I want to visit Japan someday! I like Asian cultures very much.

What did you do to communicate with Japaneses?

And what events, landmarks, or locations did you visit so far?

Looking forward to more of your posts!

I had no idea it was expensive to register older cars there...here's on the opposite. :P Cheaper to register older cars than newer cars.

I called Nissan Cube as Box car. :giggle: I was wondering - haven't you seen Nissan Nuvu around there in Japan? That car is smaller like Smart (Mercedes-Benz) and Toyota Prius, for example. Here's the link- Nissan Nuvu Concept on Yahoo! Autos – Pictures, News.
How's the weather out there? I hope it's good. We are still having more and more snow here in Massachusetts. Yucky!!!
BTW, I am glad to hear that you arrived there safe and sound and also, glad to hear that you had a nice time there. Keep telling us more when you have a chance. We'd like to hear more from you, Jake. :D

Hey did you know that Men's bra's are the latest rage in Japan??? Are you going to pick one up as a joke?????

Byrdie! Now are you suggesting he will pick one up for you? :giggle:

Is Byrdie a secret cross-dresser? :orly:
but! That's a relief everyone! They say that is usually a sign they are straight and caring.
