Anyone on here have Thyroid issues? I recently been found to have elevated TSH but normal T3 and T4. Doc sent me to get an Ultrasound and found something abnormal on my left thyroid. Now I am being refered to Shands to an Endocrinologist. I am a little worried. They do not want to start me on anything until I see the Endo.

I had the ultrasound...after my ENT said the pain I was having in my left shoulder and down my arm was not from my ear surgery that it was my Thyroid..... ....Went for the biopsy...they said it was on my right, not my left.......They do not put you to sleep for the Biopsy...just a numbing solution...And Babyblue....after 8....8...8...tries with that needle, the doctor still could not get enough tissue to make a diagnosis!...

He did say that the node was too hard......and my only option was to have surgery....or just simply "ignore it."!....I do go back to my ENT this month (Feb.) for further evaluation and decision as to what I will do...but so far there has been no more pain.

My intrepretor (Maddie) and I did talk to some other women having the same thing...and all said it only took 1 or 2 tries to get enough tissue....but after 8 tries, I told the doctor off!....

Ugh! I will see an Endocrinologist not an ENT. So hopefully they will do a better job. There is no way in hell they will put a needle in my neck 8 times! I would have told them after the 2nd time to stop.

My thyroid issue has been treated for about three years with medication. Still, I have a lot less energy than I had in the past. I'm a Type A personality, and it's very frustrating to me that I don't have the same energy that I used to have.

That might be true...as I heard of one woman being stuck with the needle 15 times before they could get enough tissue.......actually, it doesn't hurt that much......it's just the thought of that needle going in...time and time again...and if you become uncomfortable and want to stop after so many failed tries...the doctor will let you....(wishing I had not looked at my intrepretor's face while the needle was going in...)....It was her first time seeing this procedure....

I am showing several signs and symptoms. Insomnia and lack of energy is my biggest one. I also have the brain fog with is really embarrassing since I am not used to forgetting things or misplacing things. I have had people tell me that a lot of it have been reverse with levothyroxine. Some, like you, have told me the symptoms remains.

Reba, I know how you feel. I feel the frustration daily. I also have increased my intake on caffeine which is not the greatest, but it gets me through the day.

I am not sure if that the doctor will do that. It will be my first visit to the Endocrinologist. Lets just hope he does not feel the need to stick me in my neck just yet.

I can't afford brain fog while interpreting or doing my computer courses. I have shortened the periods where I do such things though. No more all-nighter work for me.

I usually have one cup of morning coffee. Any more than that makes me too shaky. I seem to have developed tremors in my hands and legs. Ugh!

I will probably be retiring from interpreting sooner than I expected. I'm very disappointed.

I take 100MCG of Synthroid every morning.

I understand what you are going through. My doc though found enlarged thyroid and sent me to specialist. He started me on meds and it didnt shrink. He ended up scheduling me for surgery and was planning to take 1/4 to 1/2 of thyroid on one side out. During surgery- he ended up taking nearly over 3/4 out on BOTH sides. Ok, fine whatever. whats done is done for whats best for my health. It been about 20 years so far since surgery and all is fine since - but still take the pill once daily.

No, I have Hypothyroidism. Underactive thyroids. Which is why my TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormones) is high. The pituary gland keeps sending the hormones to kick start my thyroid. Which it sends too much because my thyroid is not doing its job. Hope that clarifies it some.

i had over active thyroid many years back had thyrodectomy now have under active so take thyroxin.
i had no idea it gave you pain down the arm robin i have pain down my arm i wonder if it related

you same on medication, I have already same levothryroxine 0.5mg. it is doesn.t work increase anxiety affect easy anxious scary!
I am surprised, I have already issues on medication my normal thyroid issues

I am surprised you first time, doctor figure out do it fix up will soon prepare medical is modification control itself! they modify on check it issues!
