This makes me worry!!

i think time travel is impossible in real life, anyway. it can't be possible and i don't want those exploding things either. scientists need to stop messing around with science like that.

we've been messing around much more than that for many years. Look at our weapon R&D program. nuclear program. Manhattan Project. Tesla Project.

this collider project is no different except - it doesn't create explosion. The explosion at collider was due to electrical/mechanical failure, not particle itself or experiment. :)

Yeah...humans love to mess around with things....we're like smart monkeys....curious about everything like that.

I will explain in a bit - Too much of a daze from a ton of drinking last night - need to gather myself first and I'll get to you

Care to elaborate?

Hmmmm, I recall reading about an experiment in which a jet flew around the world, and using an Atomic Clock they verified a second (I think) missing.
Has anyone heard of this, and isn't that technically time travel?

It makes sense, if you flew around the world you technically gain 7 hours in a day, but not a form of time travel.

No, no. I am not talking about time zones or Around the World in 80 Days stuff. I mean they used two Atomic Clocks, one on the jet and another at the takeoff point. They verified that the faster you go, the more time slows down.
I cannot find the site but I swear I have read about this AGES ago.

There was an experiment that the US Military conducted. I was told about this about 15 years ago when they were doing it, and about two years ago History had a show on this same thing I was told about.
It was a ship that conducted tests on time travel, and some other stuff. There was a couple tests, but two that stood out - One of them was that the ship disappeared for three days and re-appeared.
The crew members were oddly in different places without knowing how they got there, such as showing up in a bars all over the place. Some of them got "stuck" into the ship physically.
There has been quite a few other experiments I was told about and I haven't seen any stories or what not about it.

I've had experience of time travel of some sorts...

One time I was walking down a street talking with friends. There was a bobcat that was driving up on the street by us... It disappeared, and when we were down the street, it came by us again. My friends didn't notice that while I did.

He is probably referring to Philadelphia experiment?

Philadelphia Experiment - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't know if it is true or not... But, if it is true, then you would think that we would have improved and be using the technology today.

The last thing I read recently, was that "they" are a step closer in developing cloaking technology. But, if I recall, it was nothing mind-blowing or anything that defies the laws of physics, etc.

It was certainly an interesting story when I first read it many years ago. Alas, it's not true.

Um, the fact that the crewmen showed up in bars should be a clue as to their veracity. :giggle:

no to time travel. it is not part of collider's experiment. It only exists in Back to the Future. period.
That is not true. The LHC can conduct many experiments. The particular experiment that we are discussing that start's in November has nothing to do with time travel if that is what you meant however the LHC is capable of conducting many experiments.

 are you sure you were not in a daze from a ton of drinking when you allegedly saw that??

have you seen Tom Hank's movie - Angels & Demons? It's roughly like that.

I have read the book Jiro and it sounds awfully similiar. Doesn't it?

If they ever do succeed I would hate to see a tiny drop come out of it all.
