That is very true, because my next door neighbor's house caught on fire due to bad electrify wires in the basement. The fire started in the basement and went up, But, lucky they could be able to repair it. ;)

See, the thing here is if I know I have information that could save lives.

I don't post the life saving information here then I am not sure how to explain and I hope that makes sense?

By not letting you know of life saving information. I would be, in effect be commiting arson without getting my hands dirty by withholding life saving information.

I am not going to do that. That would be insane.

I do not want to wake up in the morning then check the AllDeaf messageboard and see for example, Nesumth do you mind if I borrow you for a mintune to show an example please? The reason I picked you out for an example is because you do Deaf Advocacy work. Okay? Please don't mind ?

This is an example. Nesumth did not lose his house due to home fire okay? God forbid this were to happen. This is an example of what could happen.

" Nesumth , I am saddened to inform all of you at AD that last night at 2:00 A.M. My house caught on fire. Something was wrong. My Deaf fire alarm went off flashing and my hearing guide dog woke me and my wife up. I told my wife to head for the nearest window and wait for the kids. I went to each of the kid's bedroom and fetched my children to safety and they ran into the arms of their mother and I got out safe. No one got hurt. My house is delcared a total loss. Here is a picture of my house " Before picture and my after house picture " The fire men who investigated the fire reported on Tuesday morning after sifting through the fire scence for clues determined that it was a Glade plug in that caused the home fire loss. Donations and contributions can be made out to this bank. The Red Cross is in contact with the Nesumth family. Can AD readers help out too please? "

This is an example only okay?

Now I read this then I go online and I posted that about the Glade plug ins that could cause a fire. How do you think Nesumth would have felt to learn that it was 2 days too late? I knew this information 5 days ago and sat on the information then I went Uh-Oh and mention it after it happens.

He would be mad and very angry because that He is the King of his house. He has a family to look after.

It could have been worse , you see what I am saying about life saving information here?

I sounded a safety warning alarm. To be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you Heath I am glad you posted this!! I never use the plug in fresheners because it doesn't seem like a good idea to have scented oil right next to the electricity! I know people use oil for lamps & stuff (I know that's kerosine though) but still. Good warning to have!!!!

It may have come across you as paranoia and I assure you I was not spreading paranoia. I was trying to keep Deaf people safe.:)

Thank you Heath.... I'll tell my mom....
And don't waste time replying to some people here who posted "I don't believe it".

Exactly how I feel , if they would see that even Snopes.com said ....

" Undetermined "

then we have someone, CODAchild from Rhode Island who said a house burnt due to Glade plug ins.

I am not going to gamble with my life while asleep and the whole house is roaring with flames shooting breaking the windows by intense force from the fire itself.

Not a good place to be in the middle of a roaring house fire.

Heath, don't you have anything better to do than shout that the sky is falling? You do this, like, everyday. Please verify your email before you spread false rumors.

It's fake. It shows the obvious signs of an urban legend:

Yup, no names, just "a friend of a brother's uncle's dead girlfriend's inbred cousin's drunk mother-in-law's co-worker's agent's no-so-famous clone." Strike one.

Is it really harmless to pass around paranoid delusions as spam? You bet. Strike two.

Strike three. "Insurance investigators" don't do the investigating. The fire department does. The fire department determines where the fire came from and will compile a report to give to the insurance adjuster.

Just in case. Strike four. Too many homes burnt down, and no one has done public investigations on this? Hmmmmmm. Definitely fake.
Don't worry about him. If he's familiar with the story of the boy who cried wolf, he will know that one day... we won't listen to him when he says something true. ;)

VamPyroX , I do know about the story of the boy crying wolf.

That is a German story to illustrate the moral of the story.

First of all, I had no way of knowing and you need to realize I did not know it would even show up on Snopes.com. That never crossed my mind to check because it made sense and was good commonsense.

Second of all, Today people do not ignore warnings and if they do ignore the public warnings on t.v. radio or internet or while driving and see the warning on a billboard as they drive then it is at their own peril. These days, the police, fire dept and ambulance have to rush to the emergencies that they are called to wheter it is a true emergency or a " cry wolf " emergency.

Third, I have not cried wolf at all and will not do that either.

Fourth, The Snopes.com said " Undetermined " ? You wanna gamble with your life by ignoring the warning which makes commonsense then going to bed then don't come crying to me that your house is on fire and you wring my neck and tell me " Why didn't you tell me ? " when everybody knows I told you and tried to help you with a friendly public information warning that I got in my e-mail okay?

Fifth, I have nothing further to say. Have a Good Day. Tips my hat and walks away in peace with a clean conscience.

It has nothing to do with Snopes. It has something to do with the email. If it has never been on the news, why would it be such a big deal? Secondly, everyone knows that rumors start with "my friend's girlfriend's sister's friend". Friend-of-a-friend messages should be taken into consideration before running and panicking.

If you didn't know, fine. Just be careful next time.
