this is the last response i'm going to make to your posts. while it is true that there are some bipolars who use their illness as an excuse, that doesn't hold true for a majority of people. if medical research finds a cure for bipolar, there will no longer be a reason for people to use it as an excuse. by the way, i *hate* it when people claim bipolars use their illness as an excuse.if they only knew what an awful illness this was, perhaps they'd understand how difficult it is to live with on a daily basis. bipolar is something i wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
But Bipolar isn't really one thing. It can be evulated as different levels of bipolar. I'd say that you have a strong one, some I know of are very sever and they're not even taking care of themselves. Yea, it's crazy, I understand. But remember, it depends on the bipolar, how strong it is, and the person who has it.

as long i can have my rest for now
please accept my condolences. in my case, i've had symptoms of bipolar I rapid cycling since the early 90s, but was misdiagnosed with major depressive disorder (mdd). it wasn't until i suffered a severe manic/psychotic episode that i was diagnosed as bipolar I rapid cycling and schizoaffective disorder bipolar type. i now take several different meds for my bipolar and am also in bi-weekly therapy. soon i will be joining a support group for those with bipolar.
