Ps 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

One night a house caught fire and a young boy was forced to flee flames by jumping to the ground from the roof. His father stood on the ground below with outstretched arms, calling to his son, "Jump! I'll catch you." But the boy was afraid -- he couldn't see his father -- all he could see was flame, smoke, and blackness. He was afraid. Still, his father kept yelling: "Jump son! I will catch you!" But the boy refused, crying, "Daddy, I can't see you!" His father replied, "It's ok son -- I can see you -- and that's all that matters!"

Sometimes we find ourselves in the midst of the fiery trials of life and all we can see is the smoke and the flames. But faith is knowing who will catch us when take that leap. In Hebrew, the word 'truth' in this verse, is em-oo-nah, which is also translated faith. God delights in responding to our faith. He wants us to jump into His arms --- especially when we can't see Him.

George Mueller said, "Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man's power ends."

Let's practice some faith today. Our Father's arms are biggest and strongest as they come! God Bless!

The boy can hear his father. The boy knows his father exists. The boy grew up with his father.

I don't hear God. I don't know if God exists. I grew up without seeing God. How do I know whether to have faith in God or not? ;)

You hear God in your heart and your soul.

I'm not saying that I'm atheist, I grew up in Lutheran faith, baptized and all that. As I grew older, I began to question everything, I mean everything including religion. I have faith, but my faith doesn't come from God. Faith comes from the inner me. I am in charge of my faith. I have so much faith that all things will be good in life if I keep believing it which I do. I don't practice religion anymore. Maybe some day I will, maybe I won't.

I am very supportive in anybody who follows and practice the religion and whatnot. I also support those who don't want to. I'm one of these persons who has to see it actual thing so I can start believing in that. For now, I'm in charge of me, myself and my life. and I'm feeling quite good!

I don't know enough of about the etymology of of Hebrew words, but the word for "truth" is "emet". "emonah" does indeed mean "faith", though... Not sure if there's a reason it was translated the way it was, really.

truth - אמת
faith - אמונה

Ok Vamp... let me ask you about this scenery....

Let's Suppose you were driving on a small road straight ahead
and you were forced to slow down behind a huge
truck moving very slow... You are in hurry trying to
arrive on time for a job interview appointment.

You could NOT see the other opposite direction
because the truck was too big and wide...
Somehow the truck driver
waved at you with signals showing that
you can "Go Ahead & pass me now"

Will you go ahead pass his truck ?

YES OR NO ?

I'm just checking here to see if Vamp
answer to my question here :)

Ok Vamp... let me ask you about this scenery....

Your point is?

I wouldn't pass just because the trucker says it. I would rather rely on my own common sense.

No. I would rather make a mistake on my own than to depend on a huge truck. For all I know, he could just be waving his hand in the air for no reason.

There are a lot of strange people out there.

Let's look at it this way...

Suppose I do decide to put my faith in that truck driver. I attempt to pass the truck... and get hit by another incoming car. It turns out that the trucker was just trying to fuck around with me.

Oh wait, I forgot... God has "special" plans for us. I guess it was God's intention to make the truck driver do something cruel to cause me to die. I guess that's God's idea of fun.

:ugh: The story was about trusting a truck driver . . . so you'd blame God because you lost your brain to think with? Hmm . . . that makes sense. :ugh:
