Let's start a new thread abt thanksgiving. since its only three weeks away why don t we share our favorite thanksgiving moment?

mine was with my grandparents and it was the yr before the last before my grandmother detoriated to alzhemiers and i just had started at CSDF for the first time, we had alot of good times together had a lot of fun and with all the teens and adults around we played alot of football and etc. this was a nice thanksgiving for us all :)

Thanksgiving always seem the same for me every year.. except for the people.. sometimes absent family members, other times we have new guests (a future cousin-in-law showed up when cousin was studying abroad -- he proposed to her Christmas time :) Now married 3 years... other guests include several of my aunt's boyfriends, International students we've hosted for the colleges in the area, etc)

We always have Thanksgiving at my folks' house. Dad's the cook... I like to stay out of the kitchen the night before and day of Thanksgiving as much as I can... he can cook for an entire army! Hehe.

I only missed it once when I skipped it to stay with a boyfriend... grr.. wasn't happy about that one. His celebration of it was more of dinner at Carrow's. Not the same thing :(

But cheers! Thanksgiving is coming around the corner.. and I'm thankful for all the friends and family I have!

My thanksgiving always same and everything changing from playing football to chatting. Some of my older memeber family been gone thurs years.... nothing news.

I only remembered that the last best thanksgiving with my dad before his alzhermier's went downhill fast around december.. but he told us to intived whole bunch of his side relatives (sisters, aunts, uncles, nephew, nieces and cousins).. so we had feelings that it will be his last.. so we did had HUGE thanksgiving.. omg.. unbelievable how the house was so crowd.. it was over 100 people.. we heated up the garage for seatings.. we had good thanksgiving.. also he able to cook.. his favorite gravy and his own homemade pumpkin pie.. he tried his best to spend alot times with children and said to me.. I wish you have child before i gone.. 2 1/2 months later he passed on.
well.. he is up above and show off that he is granddaddy.. :)

Every thanksgiving is different but the same traditions never die, eating homemade stuffing, watching football, being with family and the damn turkey!

My favourite Thanksgiving memories? Hmm..in the past in USA -- wtih my family, it was almost always the same -- family gathering at a family home, trying to stay warm in the chill and eating traditional meals for Thanksgiving.

I always brought over a book just in case I got bored -- then I'd have a book to entertain myself with and retreating to my book world! Ha. :P

Hey Hey.... notice something?

after you stuffed with turkey and stuffings...

maybe 15 min - 1/2 hour.. feel sleepy and relax..

Does that make you wonder why? I always wonder that for LONGGGGG time..

I wonder if all turkeys are drugged.. :laugh2:

Turkey contain something that makes everyone relaxed. Sorry I can't name it right off the top of my head. No they aren't drugged :) That's why most people (I know of) usually start Thanksgiving dinner early, around 3 or 4, so everyone can go home to go to bed early :D

KJ and MsGiglz -- u 2 are correct -- NO its not drugged LOLOL but some shit in the turkey DOES make ppl sleepy and shit sheesh LOL

my own thanksgiving memories basically is just of reading or surfing on the web til dinner is on table then go eat then finish then back to reading/surfing on the web -- only deaf in a family of ALL hearies gosh im ALWAYS left out! :o

LOL Ms Giglz and KJ. Turkeys are drugged!! Very funny!!

Anyway, I feel you, Fly Free. I was called to go down to eat thanksgiving dinner with my family members. When I am done eating my dinner, then I zoom up to the office to chat with my buddies online. Sorry to say this...thanksgiving event is boring.

I rather :fruit: than sitting down and getting lost in the conversation. Shrugs.

I would go to the high school football rivalry game and watch it. Then at home we would have a Thanksgiving dinner. The invités were my parents, my sister, me, Oma and Uncle Mac. Most of the time it is not very interesting. In the recent few years, I have gone to a Deaf Thanksgiving where there would be all deaf people at the table. It makes it more fun.
