Just wow..

"Nielsen says that this rate of texting results in somewhere over 3000 text per month, per teen, on average. This means that nearly half of every day is texting time for these people, which, assuming they sleep at all, means that they're either texting steadily all day, or a ton during after-school hours. And let's say these texts average out to about 80 characters, which is half the maximum length for a text message: Even if the average word length is very generous five characters (that's six, including a space), these kids are tapping out about 40,000 words of ephemeral nothingness every month, or roughly one Catcher in the Rye's worth of "WILL UR BRTHR BUY US SUM BEER?" and "R U REDDY 2 DO IT YET?" every two months."

3,000 a month is nothing. I more than double that every month

damn... I don't text msg that much! I actually had iPhone and I txt msg'd a lot but when I lost it and got cheap BB imitation phone, it was SO hard to txt msg because it requires so many "clicks" to get a simple task done while on iphone, I just flick slide and tap msg and tap "send!" That's it.

how in the god's name ya'all txt over 1,000 per month? My average is around 600-800 per month. Last month was 3,030 because of AD meets and the other event. I just checked my T-mobile account. it said:

January - 3030
December - 600
November - 668

and now with February halfway thru... 519

I'm a teenager - I've texted 20 times max. I don't own a phone myself.

I plan on getting one in about a year and a half. I know that I will probably be an avid texter, so I plan to get an unlimited text plan.

Not being a management type I can't just pick up the phone and call or answer calls to me so I text my family when I can, many of them work as well so they also text me on their lunches and breaks.

We keep track of where each other is and if anything goes wrong we always know where to start looking for them.

Ten texts and up a day.

What phone do you have?

I have an iPhone

I have alot of old customers text me with questions and former employees who are going it on their own texting for advice.

Plus I still run charity golf tourneys and that takes alot of texts to co ordinate. I do nothing by phone.

Yeah those events will really add to your total. Thats the way my golf tourneys are.

It takes over 3,000 text messages on gossip? :rofl2:

First Text Message... "Hey, guess what I heard?"

Second to Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-Sixth Text Messages later...

Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-Seventh Text Message... "... and that's what happened!"

I just checked my last bill...

2,293 text messages :)

The bill before that...

2,122 text messages :)

I guess I average with at least 2,000 text messages a month. :)
