I've not jumped any guns here, dear. I just have a problem with people using Terri for a cause. Her parents did that, and it really upsets me. People jumped on the bandwagon, and here we are.

Note to everybody: Terri died back in 1991. She was just sustained on life support until March 2005 when finally her support was withdrawn and her bodily functions ceased.

Yes and that was the reason why I took my signature of Terri off a few days ago. I was upset about these kind of people not respecting us with the signatures of Terri. I put it back in because I realized that these people need to learn to R E S P E C T us!!

I really don't understand why you feel you have to post that in here - if you're really tired of hearing about Terri, then just ignore the thread.

Or is it because it's the blonde twins that you're really tired of?

Anything that can come from her death is worth discussing. I think the publicity factor needs to be discussed. If this never made it to the public's attention, there would have never been people displaying avatars.
 
So? If it weren't Terri, it would be someone else.

I feel that avatars and signatures are personal preference of the member - and I don't think anyone has the right to go offboard with this.

Let's say... if I decided to use the Hilter dancing scene from "The Producers," would you be posting in a thread, decrying it to be in total bad taste and so tasteless to use a dictator in my avatar?

I personally think, the way the twins used the signatures in remembering Terri, is very nice and a way of making their viewpoint on how they feel about her death poigant.

About your avatar...it's a bit outdated, don't you think?

Now, I've made a critque on ur avatar - go ahead.

Two weeks ago my husband's grandmother was sent to the hospital for an intestinal infection. She was 92 years old. She was in much pain and had come to terms with her impending death. The doctor's put her on morphene and eventually pulled out her feeding tube, due to the infection. She died shortly after.
Although I do not feel that starvation is a very humane way to die, I feel it was more humane than prolonging the inevitable.
Thank you for the link, neither my husband or I would ever want to be in the position of Terri. When it is my time to go, I don't want to have tubes in me, prolonging the inevitable. I personally would rather someone just pull a "Kevorkian" on me.

However, that being said. I respect everyone's right to memorialize Terri in any means they see fit.

There is a big difference between a tasteful memorialization of Terri and a signature with obscene content.

No, I believe Alex provided us with the penisarium so that we wouldnt feel the need to act so crudely in public forum. I think his plan was an excellent one because it still affords those of you who choose to use "potty humor" with an outlet and thus not squashing your right to express yourself freely.
The Terri Shiavo avatars are a completely different subject all together. They are tastefully done and do not infringe upon anyone else.

The Adult forum is another one, too.

I respect those who want to have avatars memorializing Terry. If I was more computer-literate, I might have put up a similar image with the caption: "In Memory of Terri and others like her". Having Terri's name leading that image would be only because her case sprouted new legal landmarks.
 
wow, I can´t see the sense why anyone criticizing everyone´s right to memorialize Terri since the creator ASK everyone WHY you add your signature or avator to memorilize Terri in General Chat section, not debate section. I see nothing wrong when the members wish to have kind of signatures or avator to respect Terri´s memory because it´s their decision what they do with their signatures and avator.

Why should I repeat to debate with you here since you know my opinion at other Terri threads... ?

I already stated in my first post here to respect Terri´s memory. She deserve her peaceful... All what I want to say that I never forget her and thank her for taught me about living will. Her condition wakes everyone including us up...

I do remember Terry Schiavo, she is in my heart. Everybody have a right to set their avatar and signatures of everybody whoever they want to set up. I dont care, its not bother me since its their choose and this American is freedom whatever we want to.

Why do you have to be "harsh" to Cheri, ^Angel^, etc who is support Terry Schaivo, OceanBreeze? Just asked to seeing why, you can answer honsetly and I will understand. Im sorry if its not right asking you that question but I saw how you said stuffs in here to them, I just dont understand why you did that. I decided to ask you to see WHY. Thank you.

Everybody who support Terry Schavio: Just ingore people who is being harsh abt her. :grouphug: I do support her and she is in my heart to remember :thumb:

I am glad Terry is at peace now. If I were her - I rather be dead astead lying on bed for years not knowing what is going out there. Her autospy explains that her brain was no longer functioning and loss of her sight. RIP Terry Schiavo :angel:
