The only people calling him a socialist, in my experience, can't even identify socialism. It was just a new code word for "Black President".

But thanks for the link to the article. Another promise fulfilled.

Right here you refer to people calling obama a socialist as doing so under a code for"Black President". Did it ever occur to you that the people label him as a socialist because of his view points? I doubt it! You seem to think you are the only one who knows what "race card" and "socialism" mean. No doubt you do and because you do, it is high time you admitted obama is a socialist and other do see beyond race.

How could she "admit" to something (Obama being a socialist, that is) which she obviously and clearly doesn't think is true? That doesn't even make sense.

Why can't you be "wise" on AD? :hmm:

It's possible that it's easier for him to be more expressive or more eloquent in real life, and if someone knows him in person, it's a lot harder to selectively react/respond to situations, rather than seeing them in a much wider range of situations.

I've not seen much (in this thread at least) that I'd agree with by him, but that doesn't mean that it's impossible to be (or even simply appear to be) more reasonable/intelligent/"wise" (wtf does "wise" even mean?) than you perceive him to be from responses on the internet.

Remember that the people you disagree with vehemently on the internet are still people, too.

Right you are! She does not believe obama is a socialist, but just because she does not believe it, does not make it true he is not. After all people were killed for believing the world is round by those you held it to be flat.

Wake me up when Eurotrash start moving to the States because Obama transformed it into a socialist paradise.

His view points don't even resemble socialism. So the answer to your question is "No.":laugh2:

I not only don't believe it, I know it. Why? Because I know what socialism is and what criteria have to be met.:laugh2:

Only when I am forced to make a reply to someone who asks such stupid questions.:laugh2:
I remember being taught that there are no stupid questions except unasked ones. Anyhow, glad I do not feel required to reply to (t)rolling7. Not much reason to go there. I am too busy buying beer and chips for my redneck friends while they blow up stuff in the microwave and shoot bottle rockets at each other from riding mowers.

The quote I was taught was "There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots."

I was taught that same thing...but in real life I have found a few exceptions to the rule!:giggle:

The people accusing President Obama of being a Socialist are actually much more of socialists than they realize.

"I don't want no stinkin' government health care! Keep the damn government's hands off of my medicare!"

May I hang that on my wall?

Sure, but you'll have to source the quote as from "Anonymous" since I don't know who it's from. (Relevent)

There you said it! You said you are "force to reply". As I remember from an earlier post, Reba ask you a simple yes or no question but you still have not answered her. I have notice, when you are ask difficult questions you either come back with a non-answer smart reply or don't answer. Oh, and don't forget awhile back I caught you in a lie.

I would love to go down this road! It would be just peachy if a president would come along and have a policy to take from Paul, who is a do-nothing who pays no taxes, and gives it to Peter, who works hard for his and make wise life decisions.
Maybe then all the Pauls will get off there butts and pull their fair share. And maybe then all the Peters will know their sweat is worth more than gold.

National Taxpayers Union - Who Pays Income Taxes?

People in the top 10% of income ($113,799 and above) pay 70% of all Federal income taxes. People in the bottom 50% (income of $33,048 or less) pay less than 3% of all Fed. income taxes. That is not a distribution that supports the claim of an "overburdened working class."

Sometimes I wonder if the numbers are worded to make it sound more atrocious than it really is.

I did a little mathematical experiment. I formed a little city in my head with a population of 10,002 people (I added two more cuz it makes it easier for calculations). The first person has a salary of $10,000, the second person makes 12 dollars more than the first person, the third person makes 12 dollars more than the 2nd person, and so on until the last person makes $130,000. The highest salary. (Basically a uniform distribution of salaries).

I made everyone in Daredeville (har har) pay a tax of a flat rate of 10% of their salary.

Then I calculated what percentage of the bottom 50% earners pay the overall taxes (about 21%), then I calculated what the 10% top earners pay for taxes (about 20%). So a small percentage pays about the same for the HALF of the earners.

Now, I assumed a uniform distribution (because it was easier and quick), but imagine this with a VERY skewed distribution, which aligns more with reality. You said that the top 10% earners make 113,799 or more. We all know that there's thousands of people who are millionaires (yes even PER YEAR!). So 10% of the top earners would give a MUCH higher percentage in taxes paid than those in Daredeville.

So are the numbers you gave really as atrocious as it sounds?
