I would love to go down this road! It would be just peachy if a president would come along and have a policy to take from Paul, who is a do-nothing who pays no taxes, and gives it to Peter, who works hard for his and make wise life decisions.
Maybe then all the Pauls will get off there butts and pull their fair share. And maybe then all the Peters will know their sweat is worth more than gold.

You just killed the American beef industry then. Actually, with your logic, you just killed America's agricultural economy.

Some of the Pauls used to be Peters. Then big bad George came along and helped mismanage those Peter jobs away. Too bad your grasp of facts is so weak. Others with your voting philosophy present much stronger cases.

Vote Republican much?

All this from a self-professed "independent" voter. Maybe he thinks independent means he does the actual voting alone; i.e. does not need someone to fill the ballot for him. :giggle:

Again, learn what socialism is and then come back and try to discuss it.:cool2:

Just for your information, my name is Paul and no, I'm not a do-nothing who pays no taxes. I'm the opposite of it. Besides, that's not really how socialism works.

No,Pauls can not be Peters. Peters are the guys that when they are down on their luck they just pick themselves up and try harder, they don't make excuses like "It's Bush fault", "the governement's fault" "high cost of gas fault" Peters when down pick themselves up and get back to being productive people. Pauls, on the other hand, don't see how their free-spending/non-planning way of life is their own downfall. And when they are down they just cry like babies and blame others.

Again, what I know socialism is and what you want it to be are two different things.

Can't have it that way. I use the actual definition, you use one made up in your head. You have to use the actual definition of socialism, and all of it's facets and the criteria that must be filled before it can be called socialism. Just because you want to make something up to fit your agenda doesn't mean it is valid.:laugh2:

I can call the grass black, too, because my distorted definition of black is different from the actual definition. Doesn't make the grass black.:laugh2:

I think you're gonna get a rude awakening at some point in your life.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

I expected you to want it to be...so sorry you can't have your way.

Nope, not my way. The way of the the definition of socialism. I didn't decide what the definition is, I just use it properly.

Oh, I have had plenty of those in my years. It is called a learning experience. I've been down on my luck and learn it was my stupid decisions that cause me to be so. I picked myself up and started over....never once have I had government assistance.....hey, they don't allow a deduction for hearing aid batteries. I have also watch my investments go up and down but made moves to protect myself. Since day one I have carried a heavy load of all insurance necessary. I bet you my last dollar I could spit out my door and hit three people walking around without any insurance at all. The drive cars without, they have babies without, they work but have no disability insurance. they have no home insurance. etc. What they do have is a big fancy car, a large cable bill, several phones and a bunch of over-extended charge cards. That is my rude awakening for YOU. Because these folks excpect YOU , me and everyone else to cover for them.

Ummm, learning experiences are best learned to learn something.:cool2:

It's obvious.

If it's obvious, then explain this. The beef industry and the agricultural economy used to be based on family business but corpotations have taken it over. Still those individuals (the Peters) who continue their family livehood are the ones keeping both alive.

Idon't explain the obvious. It explains itself.

And your logic is?!?

If America is truly capitalist, as you want it to be, then all of the agriculture operations would be outsourced to the Philippines, China et cetera. Yes, corporate affairs have a role in the subsidy, but the family farms are only here because of the subsidies.

And you can't blame corporate corruption on the the globalization of food supply. Blame over-reliance on the service industry.

Socialism supports capitalism to a certain degree and a lot of corporations receive subsidies. Otherwise, why would they have corporate welfare? Not to mention the fact that the oil, corn and farming industries receive subsidies.
