I used to have Target credit card. I cancelled it after having difficulty reaching them by phone. They did not provide a TDD number and I did not want to have to go through a third party to discuss my account so I cancelled my account with them. There are other credit card companies that provide TDD or live help instead.

This happens more than you think. I got a letter from Nationwide Company with that very same information. They provided me free credit report for a year due to this.

I provided a Chase Bank number for the Deaf/HoH some time ago... just one example of that

One reason I don't use a debit card as questionable transactions can not be disputed unlike a credit card. If you feel you're account is at risk, like Reba mentioned, cancel and request another account number.

Yes, that's a good point-- I've heard this one before. You cannot dispute a debit card purchase, while with a credit card, you can. That's why I keep my debit card separate from my daily things if I'm not intending on using it, and I keep it locked up and secure, where it happens to be now, because I have no need for it right now.

Check your account, cancel your card, and get a new one.

My father already cancelled his card and got a new one. He actually feels sorry for Target because hackers are very aggressive and clever at what they do so it's really difficult for most businesses to keep up with cyber criminals.

The worst part is they got peoples PIN and the security code on the back of your card. We have already cancelled our cards and being issues new ones. We shop at Target all the time because we use their pharmacy.

We cancelled and got a new card issued also. Kind of a nuisance.

Chase bank has put a limit of $100 that people can withdraw with their bank at an ATM machine, if you want more you have go into the bank and show an ID . This because of what happen with Target.

Someone got a hold of our credit card and made some charges a few months ago. We cancelled then and reissued. Now were doing it again. Better safe then sorry.

I hate that very few stores/businesses ask for ID anymore.

Here's the thing, though-- it's only for customers who DID shop there, and I wasn't one of them.

I saw on TV that US stores are about 10 years behind stores around the world in consumer security. Secure stores don't use magnetized strip cards and swiper technology anymore.

Do you know what they use?
