Subject: bee stings

What about vegetables? They use manure/fertilizer which are cow/horse droppings.
Like you posted, cow patties and horse cookies, bat guano, bone meal, earthworm casings, etc., are used to make the farm soil more fertile. The more "natural" the fertilizer is, the more "yuck" factor but the results are yummy. :P

I have been stung by hornets while mowing lawn. I stepped on hornet nest which was hidden in the ground. It stungs top of my head and other stung on my left ear. Stung spot swells up and my head show bump and left ear was flopped one side. I had to use baking soda and water mixed into a paste then put paste on stings. I had to sit there for 1/2 hours and swellings went away but I was sneezing alot and watery eye after that because of Histamine contained in Hornet's venom. I had to take anti-histamine medication. After that I grabbed the wasp killer spray and sprayed at the spot where hornets nest are. I waited till next day then finished mowing lawn.

Baking soda + water = paste will help absorb venoms and help reduce swellings. It was an old time cure tho.

I didn't know copper pennies would help stings. I would try that if I get stung. I was stung few times in my life. Worth a try.

It is quite interesting how the bees see the flowers different from how we see it.

No wonder the bees loves the pizza: yellow cheese and pineapple. :giggle:

Bees are great for making honey. But I am also allgeric to bees stings. I remebered got bee stings when I was 10 years old and my hand got so swollen badly from a bee stings took 10 days to heal while on antiobotics. If you get bee sting, Bees leave behind a stinger attached to a venom sac. Do not try to pull it out as this may release more venom; instead gently scrape it out with a blunt-edged object, such as a credit card or dull knife or go to doctor. So, insect stings are allergic reaction can be fatal to some people from bee stings and others are lucky they not too allgeric.

Wow Interesting read this thread :thumb:... also pictures too :D
