Stay Away from CRAIGLIST "roommate"!!

:werd: that's what I'd do the same. I won't have a stranger to be roommate with. I'd prefer someone I know and trust with :)

Phillip, yes it's good thing that your friend learn his lesson hard for fix the agreement contract next time. I would not prefer to offer stranger as a room mate because I don't know him/her.

Sunshinelady, wow - it look like that you had difference experience like this in America which different as in Germany. Good thing is you are smart!!!

Liebling, yes I did first time believe about sale cars on Craigslist (craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums) ... and i got contact a strange man, what i want this Audi car, but it is not work, because he wanna my address, name and bank account etc.. he will stay in Canada. I gave it up and look another cars. I found that other Audi and same happened, but other man, he told me he wont to be stay at home, drive on travel. *grrrr*..
so I do have a car, right now. I am happy! Not expensive ,I got a use car "1999 chrysler sebring convertible" it was $3,800. we took handle and i bought $3,500 this car, yay.. :)

Ouch! Your friend got burned. I would never ask a stranger to be my roommate, I would always go by someone I know personally.

I hope your friend learned his lesson and if he consider a future roommate, he's better off rooming with someone he knows personally and a written lease agreement needs to be made. I never trust oral agreements. It's her word against his is never a good idea. I learned that on Judge Judy show. :giggle:

It does not matter what website you guys use to find a roommate because there is always going to be someone who had the worst roommate experience. I found roommates on craigslist. I never had a problem with them. There are 4 roommates plus me in the house now. We never touch each other's things and everyone does their own things. Invasion of privacy was never an issue here. Use your good judgment and ask ALOT of questions. It is a good idea to have a roommate, good friend or family member to help u interview the potential roommate to help you make a better decision. Background check is also a good idea. Do not go with the first person that u interviewed until you have met few people.

Could Calling to Interpreter? But of course... They will not provide to interpreter come to a deaf owner house and have to interview with a person who responds by Craig list or Classifeiild :hmm:
