Stage collapses at Indiana State Fair

The stands looked sturdy and I wonder how many overweight people sat on them.

A lot of outdoor stages aren't really sturdy, one collapsed in Ottawa a while ago. Nobody got killed though. I know there was one in Alberta a few years ago, a woman got killed there.

Yeah, there were also a couple collapses in the USA the past couple weeks. Dang, I am VERY patient when I put together scaffolding for roof work. Apparently these stands were built too quickly. It is a shame. :(

From what I know, the winds started and around 30 seconds later, the stage collapsed. If that is the case, then that's a very weak stage!

Probably built too quickly and not cared for properly in terms of repairs and maintenance.
 
I have to watch out the weather report if it's not a good day, I wouldn't go there. I feel sorry about this happen.
