ShakeOut: Register

Better not be a massive fartout quake over there, eh Ocean? LOL that would be embarrassing for ya eh.. kidding!!!!

Good practice to do so in case of the big Quake....

Norcal, that's a good question. Is there any organization in your area or seen on your local tv?

Sharky, all you think about is farting? Many workforces and schools got involved plus, I joined this organization. Best for everyone to remain calm and do as instructed. Important for the Deaf and Hard -of-Hearing community to be aware as well for interpreters to be available in the event of the emergancy. You would freak for sure, sharky :laugh2:

Question: would that also include a tsunami drill as well?

Byrdie, I am sure a tsunami can hit Long Beach, CA hard if that was to happpen. Today's drill was focused on a BIG earthquake 7.8 :eek3:

imdeafsowhat, you going to be token eh?

The reason why I was asking is because an earthquake can hit the California coast and possibly cause a tsunami.

Guess i'll miss out. I won't be in San Diego again until next year.

Just don't root for the SD Chargers:giggle: Beautiful city was just there last Oct and a memorable one. I went to see my beloved NE Patriots vs SD Chargers football game beautiful weather and nice place to visit.

Ocean.. ya know I am always kidding when it comes to the farting issue... actually it would be good practice to be ready somehow if a quake do hit.. but as Byrdie mentioend, a tsunami?? What are the odds that one would actually hit the California coast? Similar to the one in the Southern Asia area several years ago when one massive tsunami did hit and completely destroyed everything over there?

Oh I know it's a beautiful place. I'm planning to move there. :)

Byrdie, I am sure its possible for the tsunami to hit the coastal areas. That would be very disasterous for California indeed. Just need to be prepared as possible. Some people here would want to alert the Deaf Community by pager somehow its not been established at this moment, something to be worked on.

Sharky, I know your kidding about the farting issue as always:giggle:

Society's child your planning on moving to San Diego pretty cool. Its a very nice city and plenty to do.

Today was my first time to do an earthquake drill..like all schools, our school mandated the drill.

I learned something very important.

When diving under a desk, be careful. You can hit your head. Hard.

*rubbing head*

OUCH!!!!

i'm terrified of big one quake but also tornando too. i know i have to be prepare in case for future.

Ouch! Is that because of Trench in Ocean floor? The Ring of Fire always get an earthquakes and volcanoes.

yes, the trench sewen around the world is basically the underwater fault lines which are the tetonic plates move around. The planet Earth is not a solid ground, everything moves a few millmieters to inches a year. There are other areas that aren't in the ring of fire that do get earthquake and volcanoes like in eastern Europe region and parts of west Africa, etc.
