Hi. I've been using Sonic Booms since Summer 2009.

I've had 4 different sonic boom clocks. All 4 have failed me. There are times my (NEW) alarm will go off if I set it for 30 minutes later. But for 5 hours later, or even one hour later it WON'T! The clock is in vibrate mode and it's on. It's set for AM and everything is plugged in. It's made me late for high school many times and is making me late for college now. I used to theorize that when the clock wakes me, I automatically turn the clock off and go back to sleep and I have no memory of it because I'm so tired.

So, I started putting something over the "off" button so that I'd automatically click snooze and I'd wake up. Didn't work. I then theorized, I must not be snoozing. So I put the clock away from the bed so I'd have to get up. I'd defintely remember having to get out of bed. And by them time I'm out of bed, I"m already awake so I don't need to snooze. Didn't work either. These Sonic Booms are failing me .I buy from an authorized dealer.

I'm getting really worried because I alternate between 8AM classes and 11AM classes. So I can sleep in one the says I have 11AM because I have classes at night on the 8AMs, so some extra sleep is nice. This means, I have to alternate from setting it to 6AM and 9AM. I worry about having to change it so much because I know the clock won't even wake me up for an hour later. I even put the clock in test mode and everything. It's to the point where I'm getting SO pissed off! If I don't wake up, I lose points in my grade.

Does anyone else have a similar issue? I go to NTID so I ask around and no one else has this problem and they have the same or similar clocks. Is there an alternative to Sonic Boom?

Sounds defective. Contact Sonic Boom or the place you bought it from and ask for a replacement.

Or if it DOES work... maybe consider a sleep study in your area?

I've done that 3 times :/ the replacements didn't wake me either. i even put little tricks around my clock so that when i wake up late, i'd check it. if the item was still there, it mwans the clock didn't wake me. :(

and last week, i didnt sleep at all because I knew the clock wasn't going to wake me. I started getting hallucinatiosn yesterday because of that. :aw:

I've had my Sonic Boom for 12 years and it works fine.

If you put it in "test" does the puck go off?
If it doesn't, make sure you have to puck plugged all the way in and that you are plugging the sonic boom into a surge protected power bar/outlet as that can sometimes mess with things.

I'd also make sure that you have a battery in the Sonic Boom - just in case.

I will look into a battery. What do you mean by puck? When it's in test mode, the vibrator goes off and the lights and the sound if i set it to that setting.

no one else seems to have this problem. starting to worry if i am bad sleeper or something.

AND ANOTHER THING! If I sleep through the alarm, the clock would be flashing and buzzing when I wake up. Few years ago, set it to 11AM and when I got home at 6PM, it was still flashing and buzzing. It doens't ever do that when I wake up late. It looks as if I never set the alarm but I did. Are there any other good alternatives? I honestly feel it's the clock. The vibrator works fine. Can I attach the vibrator to a different alarm clock?

Since you've already had it replaced. I'm going to recommend the sleep study. It really helped me when I was younger. I used to be a HEAVY sleeper and nothing woke me up. It got so bad that the only way for my ma to get me up was by placing this long frozen metal stick on my balls. Oh yeah... I quickly went in for a sleep study afterwards.

I also worked on my diet a little and it made a difference.

Just a silly question and I am sure you already checked- is the time on right am/pm and is the wakeup time on the right AM part ?

If you really cant seem to wake up -- apparently you not getting enough sleep. Time to fix your body clock.
First you need to identify your sleeping pattern. do you feel you need to go to bed early and do? you might be depressed. Do you feel you can't sleep till you drift off to sleep late at night? you might be an night owl. This might mean you are low on melatonin made from your glands. check this natural remedy first -http://free2seethemoon.hubpages.com/hub/Foods-that-Stimulate-Melatonin-to-Induce-Sleepiness . Its simple as eating toast, oatmeal, cherries, bananas and warm milk.

For me , I have to have cooled down temps before hopping in bed. NTID dorms has a constant temp and it doesnt help me at all. I used to open the windows to cool down my dorm and then hop in beed. My room mate might come home and shut the window since he loves warmth. it was a battle.

You need a pet ,that will wake you up everyday. Get a cat there is nothing like a hungry cat to get you out of bed.

They do make a clock with outlets for two bedshakers. Mine is at another residence. It is the same amount of shakin' going on for each as the Sonic Boom wiithout all the obnoxious skull stuff.
I have central sleep apnea so sleep is a problem. Exhaustion and destroyed sleep patterns. It is worth looking into sleep disorders and learning about them but ultimately a sleep study is necessary. It is a huge thing to not be getting necessary sleep and effects every part of your life. It is not so cheap for some.
What I have is a money pit. Hopefully what you have will just mean diet and a dental/nose appliance or something. For your own sake get it checked out so you can get your life back.

5 or more very loud alarm clocks under ur pillow and near ur head...Big Ben's are good...also set ur radio for the time you need to awaken...turn the volume all the way up...a bed vibrator also....Maybe ask a friend to come in each morning and throw a pot of ice cold water on you...:giggle:...

Watch ur caffeine intake before bed time...get to bed at a set time also...I solved my problem years ago when I worked days...always late to work...so I found another job working 5pm-2am (nights)...

First - ask a specialist to cure your deafness.

Second - Buy Zen alarm clock
Now & Zen - Invalid Transmission - 3

----- When cure the deafness isn't exist -----

Go to bed at 8 PM and you will be ready after 8 hour of sleep.

:)
