What about the average man? Haven't you ever been asked these simple questions to verify your identity: "What is your date of birth?" "What is your mother's maiden name?"
From my FB, one person actually responded the WHOLE name of the mother of the person who posted that.
I don't know if you read it in other post that I was victim of ID theft. When I got a report from RIT/NTID that someone stole a laptop that have all my critical information in it. So, I set up ID theft prevention account and it ran for like about 4 months. About 2 months later after it expired, during Memorial weekend, Sunday, I decided to check my bank account and some how I got $4000.00 less than I expected. I got really pissed and took a closer look at the transaction and turned out that it's was one of the investment company in NY withdraw $4000.00. I immediately call to this company and explained to them about someone tried to steal my money out of my account. The guy told me that it was someone living in Northern PA but he won't give me all the details. So, he said that my money are still in transaction and it take one day to complete the business transaction, which is on Tues (cuz Monday is holiday). Then this guy will lock this account so he won't be able to withdraw cash after the transaction complete. Then I notify my bank about what happen. Finally on Thursday, I got all my money back.
Now, if I did not pay attention to my banking account until Wed, the ID thief will withdraw all my $4000.00 in cash and it will be gone forever. I will never able to get $4000.00 back. So, it's a good thing that I keep checking my banking account frequently to prevent this happen.
