It kinda depends on the value of your home in most of SoCal.
Not sure about Norcal, never talked or looked into owning property there.
Here, in Los Angeles county, it is usually 1.xx% of your home's value depending by the city.
For ex Beverly Hills can be 1.08%, Arcadia (where Marlee lived) can be 1.10%
A lot of the average homes are worth ~500k for 2 story homes, single story homes are like 300-400k.
So with Marlee's home sold at $899,000, whoever owns it now is paying $9899 a year for property tax.
