After you opened the cap of your Snapple drink, you'd read their "Real Fact" underneath the cap, then raised your eyebrows and said that's cool I didn't know that.

But are these the real "real fact"?? This afternoon, I had a snapple drink and read its "real fact" that says "Panama is the only place in the world where you can see the sun rise on the Pacific and set on the Atlantic." My eyebrows reacted frowned....

I was like wtf?? I've visited West Coast frequently and lived there once, and took an earth science class in 9th grade.... It was pretty shocking that they gave false fact on "real fact".

If any one of you recieved wrong information from the cap, then post it here!

uhmm e -- it said the 2 oceans -- the pacific and the atlantic -- wouldnt those 2 be there around the panama qq -- west coast doesnt have the atlantic -- only the pacific

so wouldnt that be accurate qq

It's true that Panama has both oceans on sides BUT it doesn't sound right when it says sunrise on Pacific and sunset on Atlantic. It's like earth is counterclockwising!

Maybe if you think about it, Atlantic Ocean can reach to the western part, and Pacific Ocean can go past to East part of Panama. Remember, Panama is in Central America... So technically, Carribean Sea is part of Atlantic Ocean...

Check this map out...

ahhh e -- yes i agree with u on that one!!!! should be sunrise at the east and sunset at the west not the other way around LOL -- thats where Snapple has apparently fucked up at!!!!!

Or does it means you can see the sunrise on Atlantic from Pacific, and sunset on Pacific from Atlantic on the land? Didn't know how awfully small was Panama that you can see both sides while standing in the middle.

dang e -- becoming more analyatical qq hehe -- Panama IS small after all and we do get to see the sunrise from the east and the sunset from the west while standing on the highest point in Panama -- kewl thought huh q :D

I am so addicted to Snapples Lemonade and always look at the caps for fun facts. They are very intriguing!!

e!!! I guess you didn't get it at all.

Look at the map again, if you were standing in a town called Tonosí in the south of Panama, you would most definitely see the sun rise on Pacific Ocean. Then if you were in another town called Colón in Northern Panama, you would see the sun set on Carribean/Atlantic Ocean. Get it?

I agree with koochie.. That snapples is right.. This is a very tricky fact that they provide..

Honeybees naviagte by using the sun as a compass.

Thanks for making this clear, Kuifje! Boy, it's really tricky to figure out like that. Just making sure this is what I thought now-You could see the sunrise coming from Gulf of Panama because it's part of Pacific, right? If facing north in Colon, then you can see sunsetting on Gulf of los Mosquitos?

I've been to Panama. Hence my user-name, Volcan Baru(google it)

You could say that Panama is the only place in the world. If you get on top of the mountain(Volcan Baru Mt), you can literally see both of the oceans at same time.
