Sk3 Has Problems, Don't Get Wrong, I Do Still Love Sk3

I LOVE SK3 IN EVERYTHING PREFECTLY! Mysk3 doing well-connect, GRSP, good keyboard, small & lightweight phone

I can't complaint about catalog apps have some missed and no there on SK3 for example, no AOL MAIL, TRAVEL TIME, OTHER GAMES and RINGSTONES ON SK3, and yes catalog apps has on sk2.. that is strange.. But i aint complaint about it . what about mp3? I can't answer this, because I cant hear it, alldue I am deaf.. :)

I notice battery meter bar be soon dead so quicky!, WHY I am out of battery lifetime like 9 to 10 hours. is it just me or battery issues? yesterday I did charge it on sk3 allday, plus overnight after I got sk3. don't get wrong, I really love the SK3. but I am frustrate with removeable battery which is defect or what? Otherwise I should get extra removeable battery as back up? Hummm.. that is my MAINLY concern...

everyone has similar with this problems somewhere forums online I read.. ummm, what about you, if you had SK3.. please break your silent and speak out of what you have concern with your SK3's issues.. join here!!

it is possible that the EDGE network or any faster network does drain the battery quicker. my PDA does drain quicker than i expected.
 
i have plm same thing, but i called T mobile.. and they re working on it and give me exchange. So i don't think any helps. Wait n' See. Mine just last 2 to 3 hours.

The fact I do like Sk3 better than orginal SK and SK2, the reason, trackball is easy to use than scroll like SK2. Comfy keyboard than old SK verisons.
 
I did notice on T-Mobile's website that the Sidekick 3 has a very short battery life when compared to other handheld devices. I believe the total standby time was only 3 days, and talk time was 4 hours. That's remarkably short when compared to what is available. You might want to look into buying a back up battery.

yea i noticed sk3s life is shorter than tmobile mda or other pda. :dunno:

my pda lives ~8 hrs if i use internet or aim heavily or watch some mpg4 movies.
 
I got this from hiptop community -- SK3's battery life (software part) is not programmed correctly to "properly" show the ACTUAL battery life. Sometimes it showed 400% (over fully, it can not be done physically.) Battery was tested rigously to ensure that it do last long time physically and is operating within specifications. This is the MOST common complaint in hiptop community and it was recoginzed that software needs to be fixed. Right now Danger company is working on newer OTA (Over The Air) update to get battery indicator fixed.

It is like car having full tank of gas, but the gas meter in dashboard shows that it is 1/4 full. The gas meter needs to be replaced.

Oh really? You have to buy extra battery as back up?

I believe that is not reason about edge.. If i didn't using sk3 for allday. battery meter would be quickly soon out of and let it dead battery for 8 hours less.

Sherry, You do? As for me, I already talk to tmobile manager at store about battery isssues. she told me, better wait till they will get more battery after july 10th. they will be more happy that battery exchange in events.. I think better wait till t mobile store get battery and i will go to exchange battery only, not sk3.. sk3 is my sweet baby!

I add that I love SK3's keyboard are THE MARBLE BUTTON than sk and sk2...

guido, Yes that what I planning to buy extra battery as back up or exchange, who knows.. smile

anyway let go back your point that sk should be standby time for least 3 days. you are right.. but I dont know why sk3 got battery shorttime. that what I really frustrate with battery issues.

Yes that what the forums I read half millions of sk3 who complaints about battery issues like mine...

Like you buy new car with bad battery, you keep buy new battery but battery always drain all times. it become bad battery for no reason.. might be car's engine issues like reg volt or alt genenator...

i understand that sk3 can standby up to 3 days, but it dies quicker than it is expected. it should be 5 or 7 days, but not.

most mobiles can standby up to 7 days, but i dont buy that ! ;) i put my pda on charger every night before i go to bed.

i hope that sk3 battery issue ll be fixed ASAP for those sk3 loyalists.
 
eh? sound too much for me.

I still have sk1 and am not going to complain about it..
as long it runs.. txt, phone, battery, aim, email and some games. I dont use websites..

just old of me.. :P

A lot of them do not have problem with battery. (half a million have battery problem? *laughs*)

And OTA for battery isn't confirmed by administrators on hiptop forum.

Advice: charge sk3 regularly, and after few days, battery will be "broken in" meaning that it will be fully charged and live up to its specification.
 
I did called T mobile few days ago with techincian support. Did told them that everytime i charged it. and battery strength reduce so fast in 2 to 3 hours. so i give 2 more days. Still same. So Tmobile said it could be weak SK3 in bad techinican eat battery or bad battery. So they will resend me another one. They even did mention, they can be eat battery little fast than SK2 depends on room temperature, how much u use, usage, charges. They said for battery 5 hours for talk, and 10 hours for usage.

Then send it out for replacement. It is probably manufacturer's defect in how battery are built. In a long run, they will be fixed.
 
The battery life lasts depending on how often you use your Sidekick. From my observation, text messaging uses more power than emails.

i have sk3 and im using AOL mail... look back on catlog and u might find them now...

How much if I want to upgrade to SK3? I just re-contracted with SK2 last feburary because my last year SK2 has went bad.
 
If you complain about short battery life, TURN OFF THE SOUNDS, VIBRATE AND LIGHT FLASHING IT'S SAVE LAST LONGER

$350 for 1 years contract
$400 for pre-paid (no contract)

I have no problem with battery life for SK2 because I always charge every night.

I think SK3 have problem with short battery life because some manufacturer don't well with SK3.
