Sigh..we had to close our bank account..

Hey.. everything's ok now.. Jeremy found out that it was him doing that.. he don't remember.. so everything's cool! :)

Hey, look on the brighter side that both of you will get a new account and a debit card. There are a few certain rules you need to do:

1. Do not trust any website that request personal information and debit account number plus a security number on the back of the card (3 digit number usually). Trust some e-stores like Target, JcPenney...but not the sort of illegal e-stores.

2. Make sure there is NO one around you when you do a transaction at the ATM machines. Some kids are peepers! Grrr!

3. Make a list of what stores you do a transaction with a debit card or check card..it's a good idea.

I love it when this lady friend of mine next door told me a hilarious and wonderful story. She did a transaction the first time at the store...later in a week, someone made a debit on her account. So she figured it's the same person that filled out the information at the store when she purchased a broom. Hmmm.. Lovely catch. The employer apologized to her and fired a person but not so yet, he was letting him get away with it. The lady dialed 911 and police rushed faster. The driver was about to speed away but they caught him pretty good. It was hilarious that he was caught red-faced and PEEED in his driver seat...but stupid of an employer for just letting him go after he fired him. I don't know how long he spent in jails..it taught him a lesson. He was purchasing a toolbox with my friend's check card. Sucker! ;)

I thought that at first until the bank told me that they were charging me $1.50 for every transaction I did inside the bank when my account was set up to have all transactions done through the ATM machine. No wonder why my balance was off... way off. :(

Did you do the transaction outside of the bank's ATMs? Like in store? Gas stations? I know it's suck...but get a "Check Card" and charge it like a credit card. A check card will only debit any amount from your bank account without any fee. It works better than a debit card. I never use debit card for purchasing unless if I'm using it at the bank's ATM. ;)

Do you mean ATM card?

Because Debit Card is the same as a Check Card...I have one, I can charge it anywhere, restaurant, stores, etc.

An ATM card is where you can only get money out of an ATM using your card. You can't charge it at stores or restaurants.

yes...debit card with a mastercard or visa card can be charges in the restaurant. You can use either a regular debit (ATM) card or a check card in ATM. But the atm that is not associate with the bank will charge a minimal fee like .75 or 1.00 or somewhat the fee is. IF you use it at your bank's own ATM machines..then it will not be charged.

There are two different debit cards...debit card can be ATM card or a debit card can be a Check Card. I use a Check Card and ATM card..either one at my bank's ATMs. ;)

I only use the Check Card at every restaurants, stores, etc. Gotta love it. But hate it when they debit the prices off from the bank account. LOL!
 
Yea I used my debit card and every time I go to the store. The clerk will asked me "Do you want debit or credit?" I said credit of course cuz it wont be charged for a fee but if you use debit and there will be charged the fee. I hate that. Do I use credit all the times.
 
i used to have two cards.. atm card and debit card.. but now two in ONE card.. it did cost me annual for having atm card but now not anymore. as for dedit/check card- no annual, too. so pretty much used everywhere.. :)

if u used the debit card and the sale clerk said do u want to charge debit or credit? cant use credit if u use debit card. its not the same .

credit card is what you charged and later you will have to pay the bill plus interest ..

check card is same as debit card- no interests cuz you are not borrowing anything? :) but have to have money in the bank when you purchased something but if used the card at an different bank atm machine- some fee may apply.
