I ended up ordering a Sidekick 2 today, and I'm curious, does anyone know how much internal memory they have? I cannot find the answer anywhere.

I ended up ordering it from You Never Call, which claims free after mail in rebates. Has anyone ordered from them? Did you ever recieve your rebates?

its nice.. but i notice its required to have a voice plan.. since i don't need it :-/

The sidekick 2 has 32 MB of internal memory total...while the sidekick 1 has 16 MB of internal memory, that's all I know top of my head. :)

Thanks. None of my friends that I asked who have a Sidekick 2 could tell me.

I didn't read that about the voice plan rebate. I went back, and it looks like it'd still be possible to get the 2 other rebates, so it'd be $150 after rebates.

You have 6 MB memory for your emails and 100 message memory for your text messages. For downloads, that depends on what you got with your Sidekick. Usually, when going to the downloads menu... you'll get something telling you how much you've used and how much you have left.

can it open and remove 32mb card and replace it with either 64 or 128mb card?
I doubt it. It's a Danger product and why increase the memory?

Ok, I recieved my Sidekick II, and so far so good. Can anyone tell me how I can use my contacts to send a text message instead of entering the phone nbr in manually?

It's not possible because it's a memory chip soldered to the board. At least it has more memory for SMS messages and contacts unlike the old sidekick 1.

If the number is added to the person's contact, then it works the same way as email.

if you have the person name and phone number in the phonebook, it will pop up when you start typing their name on text message.

Ok. I figured it out. Thanks. Sorry, one last question. When using the camera, is there a way to zoom in?

The camera does not have any zooming capabilities. However, you can change the resolution of the pictures you want to take. It's usually best to leave it at the maximum resolution. Making it smaller makes it look more blurry.

Unsoldered it. :)
