What year of 3000 sidekick look like ?? hehehe

Beeper like Star Trek. We do not have to drive, fly or train. Just press the button from your home area to the White House on Penn Ave, Washington, DC. You will arrive there in few seconds. :giggle:

Ooops, I am at RavenSteve's bedroom. Oh no.. shit !! :hitit:

It'd be real grand we can use a communicator looking like this

CRT invented in early 1920s

LCD invented in early 1950s

Hologram invented in late 1960s

I believe the truly hologram like Star Wars would be possible ready in 50 to 100 years, not 1,000 years. Some of you might live enough to see. :+D

True! Reminder of Moore's law... Technology doubles every 18 months, and it has proven ever since around 1875! So having hologram will happen nor far from today! probably 25 years from now I guess.

Image having hologram interpreter! hehehehe That way Terp can be at anywhere, at anytime but actually stayed at home.

Don't you know that cell phone now can broadcast TV channel, cool, eh? It just came out very recently.

What? No.

Technology doubling since 1875 is an ABSURD statement.

Moore's law isn't TECHNOLOGY that doubles every month -- it's an observation that "the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since the integrated circuit was invented"

Gordon Moore was the co-founder of Intel, the guys that bring you computer chips. He said the bold statement above in 1960

It was a good marketing ploy -- make you think Intel is related to the advancement of TECHNOLOGY, and make you buy a new computer every 2 years. Don't buy into it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moore's_law

An interview with Moore himself in this year:

"However, on April 13, 2005, Gordon Moore himself stated in an interview that the law may not hold valid for too long, since transistors may reach the limits of miniaturization at atomic levels."

--------------------------------

Now, in any case, holographic interpreters would be cool, but I think we'll get virtual interpreting before that happens.

Sign language interpreting would take taken over by an A.I. instead of a live person. That would mean that you wouldn't need a cell signal or high speed internet.

I also believe that instead of "holographic" interpreting, we'd get interpreting that goes directly into your eyes or glasses or another display. There's no need for a device that other people can see, except for when you're interpreting for a group. The challenge how is to have your signs seen and voiced to the hearing people around you.

The sidekick 4 is not on the horizon. Think about things to do with a sidekick 3!

This is no frakking a Sidekick 3 at all! it is another model and brand.

Danger maker of Hiptop that sells them to T-mobile which is rebranded as Sidekick will never put a window os in it.

Get over it! Danger hasn't started working on 3rd generation of hiptop yet.. they are focusing on Sidekick 2 for time being.. and will continue to update the software for that model.

that photo came from this website which has NO information about it at all:
http://www.freewebs.com/sidekick3/index.htm
Of course there is label at top saying "T-mobile Sidekick III" but it is just pure hoax!

You are correct, but I don't think T-mobile is obligated to continue using products from Danger.

I wouldn't be surprised if T-mobile went to some one else to make the sidekick3, I also wouldn't be surprised if the sidekick 3 ran the PDA version of windows.

However, I agree that the image posted above is a hoax.

I can be sure of 2 things though,

1) the sidekick 3 won't have coverage in my area,
2) the service plan will still be too expencive
