Exactly! and somebody is making up about so called videophone on SK4. From my understanding, there is truly technology limitation on cell system. It can transmit only up to 56k baud! Just like dial up internet connectivity, and no way you can get high quality video streaming like you could get off from broadband. Just image that, with 56k baud on one cell tower can handle up to 850 connectivity at a time, increasing that baud rate is going to decrease the connectivity limits at a time. NO wireless provider wants to decrease that number at all! PLUS FCC is not going to increase the frequency anytime soon. Its because of cost! Way way way too expensive at this time. Maybe 20 years from now.

I believe the real reason for Danger to manufacture SK2 is to increase the durablity, meaning less breakable. I am sure that Danger had spend alot money to replace SK1 under warranty and realize that they need to redesign them JUST TO SAVE THEIR MONEY ON WARRANTY COST!

This is no frakking a Sidekick 3 at all! it is another model and brand.

Danger maker of Hiptop that sells them to T-mobile which is rebranded as Sidekick will never put a window os in it.

Get over it! Danger hasn't started working on 3rd generation of hiptop yet.. they are focusing on Sidekick 2 for time being.. and will continue to update the software for that model.

that photo came from this website which has NO information about it at all:

Of course there is label at top saying "T-mobile Sidekick III" but it is just pure hoax!

Diehardbiker-

Thats true for GPRS model, but as for CDMA (Sprint/Verizon) they can go into range of 100-400 kbps. :)

Soon, likely that Sidek!ck won't matter much. WiFi is around the corner, already two cities offers free WiFi connectivity. More will be copycats, and Im sure those data carrier will get pissed off because deafies surely will find WiFi better than using SK, whats more the connectivity is completely FREE... Why shell out 30 dollars or more a month if a city is gonna give away free connectivity. Just think about it! PDA, lappy, or even desktop can connect though WiFi, cool, eh?

What I heard is that WiFi is far cheaper and have better coverage range than GPRS, plus they don't need fancy towers. A ordinary phone pole is sufficient.

The cities are only offering free Wifi for now. I doubt it will last for long because Wifi costs the city money and you can only use so much bandwidth. If more and more people start to use the free Wifi the quality of free Wifi service will be terrible, unreliable, and slow.

I'm looking forward to more and more cellular technology coming out being accessible and meeting the needs of deaf people. Video isn't coming anytime soon to America.

Richard, I think the idea of the wristwatch "communicator" is great, but please, no one is making that kind of tech right now. It's a WISH LIST written by a WIRED MAGAZINE COLUMNIST two years ago. They wish this kind of tech will become available in 2013. It's not planned or even on a drawing board anywhere.
