Hero guard shot thwarting attack at Family Research Council HQ | Fox News

A security guard at the Family Research Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C. is being hailed as a hero after he stopped a gunman posing as an intern, taking a bullet in the arm before wrestling the suspect to the ground.

The suspect "made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard," a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.

Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, "Don't shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for."

Good job finding another anti-conservative nutcase to fan the flames of your culture war.

Great job to the security guard that tackled the suspect even after being shot and saved the day! At least this one is alive so maybe we can find out why! I'm afraid if all this shooting & killing doesn't stop real soon they are going to pass that crazy United Nations weapons ban! Then only criminals will have guns! Stop the madness!

I'm afraid that he's not having to look too hard to find them! They are making it really easy! Sad!

He (Stein) was the one that said party affiliation did not mean anything in these cases. Perhaps he was mistaken?

My viewpoint has not changed; he (the shooter) is another nutcase, regardless of his political views. He surely wasn't speaking for any Liberals I know.

Where have I stated party affiliation was important in this shooting? All I did was post links to articles about it.

Now wait a minute. This is a news-worthy event. Steinhauer didn't create it or have to dig deep to find it. IT HAPPENED!

Thanks to the quick, brave actions of the guard and others, it didn't turn into a tragedy with multiple casualties.

There are gay/lesbian teenagers committed suicide due to nasty bullying and some of them got killed by anti-gay people so FRC didn't support to pass the law to protect teenagers with different sex orientation. That's what FRC got paid for, IMO.

I have no respect to FRC at all and speaking about shooting, I'm out of this situation.

There are many organizations or groups for whom I have no respect but I certainly don't want crazed gunmen attacking them. That solves nothing.

Yup, that's true.

I'm not applauded about FRC shooting because it will make a lot worse.

This shooter should think twice because he is going spend rest of his life in prison, even I'm sure about bullying is much worse at prison.

the point is.... he picked the specific story because he agrees with the way it was written.

Nope - I picked the story because it was the one being reported on.
Try again.

I did the same thing in the Texas A&M shooting.

Yes that's what I just said. Same incident. Many stories. You're selectively-choosing an article which you agree with its language that says anything negative about liberals/democrats/leftists/etc.

I did the same thing in the Texas A&M shooting.
You made a very erroneous post. The shooting did not occur at Texas A&M.

It doesn't really matter why he picked it. Regardless of who posted it, the story is newsworthy on its own. Can we move on to the topic itself?

Half of the story wasn't newsworthy and factoid. It was opinionated.
