I also am going to take up hunting both small and big wildlife game to put more wildlife game dinner on the table to eat which is 100% natural compared to the store bought meat with red dye , alots of chemicals and drugs etc.

Whatever you do, just don't go hunting with Dick Cheney—that could be very detrimental to your health. You might get lead poisoning.

Hi Reba,

Yes , there must be something else more that I can do. I am not going to be content with minimum aumont of information when I have heard of and seen Deaf people with diabetics go blind slowly because they did not follow their doctor's instructions. At this point it can be reversed now so I am taking advantage of that opporounity that my doctor is offering to simply reverse diabetics by proper nutrition and excersice, plenty of sleep. I am also trying to research 100% natural alternatives to diabetics and will talk to my doctor about it some more.

Pretty much everyone has said it, already. I just wanted to wish you the best, and to remind you that you can determine your own destiny here. Learn all you can, and follow your Dr's advice. Being pre-diabetic does NOT mean you'll develop the full blown disease!

I'm thinking about you!

Sorry you had to find out like that. Well I suggest you to avoid eating and drinking anything that contains high fructose corn syrup. Unfortunately, it is hard to avoid. What many people did not know about HFCS is that our bodies can not really digest the fructose very good like many other sugar. Those studies on HFCS suggested that consume too much of HFCS increases the risk of getting diabetes.

Well, Any people that 30+ age are high risk to get health issue based on food and nutrients. It can be developing into diabete, heart attack, kidney disease and liver disease. I had went to doctor about my currently weight is 220, up from 134 in 2001 and my height is 6'0, he said my body is fine, no risky to get any disease but he recommanded for me to exercise more to losing weight and drink soda, regular food is fine but recommanded for limited fast food for me. I just need losing about 50-60 lbs. and back to normal again except for weight based on muscle instead of fat. I'm would be under 200 lbs. in around August 2006.

Hardly to said that most diabete is occured in developing countries than in USA and EU. I know that one mexican woman is just get food from McDonald's for 3 meals everyday then she became sick and specialist was therapy on her to losing alot of weight.

TrippLA, You meant to say the doctor said to stop drink soda right?

Your doctor told you to drink soda.

Drinking soda is about the worst thing you can do for your health.

Drink water will help alots. Water is your best friend.

That's your doctor, not for me. You don't need tell to me.

I means that doctor said drink soda is fine and regular food is fine for me. I had go to doctor in Tijuana, Mexico that where provide free medical center and great doctor, and some people already know about english. When I'm sick and my friend drive to Mexico for see doctor in few month, and had checked up at once a year. Soda isn't worst one BUT... cook food with oil is much worse than soda, use think about it.

I was reading your post and use ASL to make sure I understand what you said about soda. Fry food with oil is not good. Your doctor is right but if you have extra virgin olive oil for with food , not fry no ...but just leave olive oil in its natural state and eat with dinner meal is good. It is much better to make a fruit or vegetable smoothie with no sugar added then you can drink and it is still 100% healthy much better than soda. When I used to live in California for a while there were fruit smoothies all over San Diego and L.A. I liked to get some smoothie to drink with my food but I also could taste and tell that there was alots of sugar in the smoothie so I asked someone where there was a place where they sold smoothie without sugar and I had to go on the city bus to East L.A. to get a smoothie without sugar. I remember it was near some place that provided some type of service next door? I remember it was a 1 floor story building with about 4 or 5 different offices in one building and it was on the hill looking towards L.A. and when I rode the city bus up that hill. I could really feel the bus go upwards up the hill. I also remember a big supermarket all the way next a couple streets with a circular sign that said welcome to East Los Angeles. I never had a problem being in East Los Angeles as the people there were very hard working and always focused on going some place else. It may also have been due to my skin being alittle olive dark skin because I am German and Italian and I could pass for a light skin hispanic but I did not do that because I had no need to do that. I just said I was German and Italian when I was asked. I saw some Latino gang members here and there but they always respect Deaf people and they leave people alone and almost never bother anybody compared to when I was riding the L.A. subway and at one of the stops was Compton and the black gang members got on and acted all arrogant and many Deaf people told me to not chat in ASL when go near or at the train stop or leaving the train stop at the Compton train stop. I remember there was a library or some type of school right off the Compton train stop. I stayed on the train and there is no way I am going to Compton. I noticed a big difference between going to East L.A. and Compton. It would have been suicidal to get off the Compton train stop. At that time, I did not even know I was in East L.A. then I saw that sign when I got off at the the bus stop then I noticed it said Welcome to East L.A. in Spanish/English and the supermarket food was right there go a couple streets over then there is the store with the smoothie and no sugar in there. There were some houses and a few residential apartments near the store where they sold the sugar-free smoothie.

Yea, that's right. there's white gangs (known as neo-nazi) in anywhere, that where little bother at deaf people and aggressive on their personal. It's best friend with latino gangs and cruised around South LA because they want see if what crip and blood are doing in neighborhood as can get them out but gangs in LA is declining since 1995, especaily on crip and blood. It was big change in Compton that where many blacks are leaving LA and entire LA County to Southeast USA for better life, and many latino are moving in Compton and rest of South LA. There's few gangs problem in our area not worse as in early 90's and they are doing nothing with people, just work on criminal and drugs to against on other gangs and trading some stuff with mob.

East LA is nice but much older and gritty than in South LA and crime isn't bad. You can stay away from Compton if you want too but I just visit here sometime, mostly drive on freeway and riding on transit to Long Beach, and back to Downtown LA.

I forgot to add that I remember one day it rained really hard in East L.A. and I could stay on the bus then the bus went some places first pick up and drop off people then finally turn around then cross the street then went up that hill where the sotre sells the smoothie and I rang the bell to get off the bus and walked to the store to get something to drink and eat. The man was a very nice old man. There was some t.v. going on and what seemed to be his wife with the kids playing in the back because it was raining outside. His wife was also old too. I think they were old enough to be grandparents babysitting their grandchildren. His wife turned up the heat alittle to keep warm and put on some Mexican blankets around the kids to keep them warm as they played with toys on the living room. He sat with me at the store and we talked for a while. They were a nice family, hard working and very respectful. I left as soon as the rain let up and told the man Thank You then got back on the bus.

Not all neo-nazis bother Deaf people , there are some neo-nazis that still believe in the eugenics doctrine that Adolf Hitler taught and some neo-nazis do not believe in the eugenics doctrine because they have more common sense today than in the 1930's also they may have someone in their family who is Deaf too. I was in L.A. about 10 years ago. That was a very long time ago. My stay in L.A. was not too bad but it is really a big city and the elevated L.A. subway takes forever, man .... Downtown LA was not too bad but I went into one of the places by mistake called Skid Row and I realized that was not a very good area. It seems the homeless stay there and then a couple blocks over was the L.A. Police Rampart division which did alots of hard good police work there but a few bad police officers ( " bad apples " ) ruined it all for the Rampart LA Police unit there and the hardworking families who wanted to be free from the crime there weren't too happy with the police officers who snitched on another police officers because it was the first time they really had any real police protection in that area. I remember it being on the news all the time while I was in LA. I really liked hanging out in Santa Monica boardwalk as it was about one mile from the ocean. Very safe and also I can't remember a couple places that were also very safe and mostly 100 % White. I also remember going to Echo Park with somebody who was Deaf himself too and Echo Park was very Cuban. The business district downtown LA had alots of good deals on clothes, shoes just about everything. I just had to make sure to stay away from the skid row section a couple blocks away. Staying in L.A. was a good experience but not a place I would want to live in because of the earthquake. I don't like the idea of having a roof fall down on me. I have survived tornadoes and hurricanes but I don't think I want to be in an earthquake.

I'm sorry, I disagree with your doctor. Obvious he needs to go back to medicial school. I'm not here to offend you, but you really have no idea how important it is not to drink soda and eat regular food that contains HFCS. Actually, did you know that cooking with any food contains butter is worse than cooking with olive oil? If you don't believe this, I'm more than happy to collect all my notes from my classes on sugar and their sugar structures. You are more than welcome to study them.

Do you want to know how much sugar is really in the soda? It has NO important nutrition. They are full of sugar and sodium carbonate. I was told that Coke and Pepesi companies put about 4 cups of sugar in one soda. That is one hell a lot of sugar!

Long Beach was not too bad. I remember going there on some kind of subway or trolley system ? They had a very nice public library that seemed to be right there and I am trying to remember what else ? I can't remember right now but Long Beach seemed to be some kind of a smaller town within a city right? Somebody was telling me to not hang out in Long Beach at night time. I didn't ask since it made sense. There seemed to be alots of black gang members on some street and someone Deaf himself told me that Snoop Dogg used to live somewhere on I think 22nd or 23rd St. somewhere like that then I noticed the Mexican gangs seemed to live on the another side of Long Beach and it was in a much more cleaner area where more Latinos were working very hard. Security seemed to be much more tighter there. There weren't too many White people in Long Beach except for business people etc. during the daytime. I noticed there was alots more police presence in Long Beach than in L.A. so I left the area. I don't think I ever saw the beach itself but I did see the ocean in the distance and a lots of cargo ships that seemed to come and go near Long Beach. I saw a couple U.S. Navy warships off in the distance. That was it.
